  • Will there be an X1E bugfix update before or after X2 is released? (p.2)

I certainly stumble on some new bugs every now and then. Getting a few with clip envelopes lately where you click on one to pan it and another one moves, or nothing moves. Or it doesn't select. Just weird stuff. But I usually come up with a workaround. Automation lanes show development is made in this area so fingers crossed it doesn't bring more bugs to the lane..

But no major bugs I'm seeing. Just little frustrating things here and there. Oh well. I can still make music so I'm not complaining.

@matt... Thanks. Actually do recall seeing some people having a hard time with some automation stuff. Haven't really gotten too crazy yet with that stuff myself though. Just basic volume/gain so no dealing with big piles of spaghetti yet. I do like the look of those automation lanes though... also the take lanes. Much cleaner and easier to work with from the looks of it.

I'm keeping it pretty simple too right now, just basic clip panning and volume envelopes!

I try not to get too crazy with automation if I can help it so I don't know if the lanes will be super helpful, but great to have there anyway just in case.

"As if Cubase has no bugs...  LMFAO..  its one thing to buy it, if you want it, but to pretend its, "bug free."

As if I ever said it didnt... Wow you sure assume a hellova lot dont you... I mention another host and you need yer meds again Phase... I NEVER EVER stated that Cubase or ANY OTHER software including X1 or the up coming X2 is or EVER will be bug free. Did I? But Cubase's last update is nice, and worth the look. Its also very stable (6.5x) for alot of users according to the many forums Ive read. So Slurp your spews elsewhere. Thanks for the software lesson. I was loading software in a Vic 20 with a cassette recorder when you were just a twinkle in yer daddys eye... And If it pisses you off because of the mentioned issues in X1 when it was released,  and it obviously bothered you that I said as much here because of the retorts and snot bubbles from you, to the point it made you feel you had to mouth off because of all the unfairness in the world to date (and other hosts mentioned here) ,  then all I can say to you is (and you can Trust me on this Phase)......., goooood.....    Im LMFAO about that too...   Now, relax. These arn't the droids your looking for.

I'm confused.  The consensus in this thread seems to be that there are no more X1 updates coming - and the next release from CW will be X2....

But in this thread dated Aug 01 2012:

... Robin seems to be saying otherwise.  Did I misunderstand?  Was this discussed/corrected somewhere else?

What am I missing?

Yep, misunderstood :) He means the next update of information - not software update. More NEWS will be released at the end of August, not an update to X1.

Never in the history of SONAR has CW ever patched an older version once a new version has been announced. Of course that does not mean it will not happen but I suspect the staff will be busy addressing issues introduced by X2 in addition to problems grandfather in and then there is the ever increasing list of feature requests for X3 just a year or so away.

@ Beep, like Matt I too have annoying issues with automation. Also, sometimes I forget that (while a project is playing) I can't open certain plug-ins or the channel strip without crashing.

@ Steve, I agree and should have re-worded it as DAW's. But we're on Sonar forums so I went with that. I was tired.
Realistically that applies to just about all software in general.

For the record, I too will be buying X2 right out the gate.
I cant wait to get my greedy little hands on automation lanes to see if my automation problems have finally been addressed after all these years.

Oh I see.. Your defending the jerk that I was being another jerk to?

Thank you doctor Cliffr . Ill take two pots and see your kettle in the morning...

As far as getting X2, I will also be downloading it and using it along side of Cubase. Oh my...,  there IS that ugly word again. Please no whips this time...
