Hi Forum, I´d like to record a Wahwah-Guitar in Sonar X1 Producer, but it did not work. I´ve done the following: - Load GuitarRig to a Track - Create a Wahwah-Sound - Use the Learn-function to assign the Pedal to the Wahwah-Parameter (Now I can play Wahwah-Guitar) - I change the Filter-Button in Sonar from Clips to Automation/GuitarRig4/CryWahPedal (Now I see the Automation-Line) - I hit the Button to record Automation Data If I try to record, I can here the Wahwah-Guitar, but I only record the Guitar, but not the Wahwah. The Automation-Line keeps straith. Can someone help me? André

Do you have Automation Write enabled in Guitar Rig? (Top right corner - button with a W - turns red when enabled)

Why don't you just set the automatic sweep of the wah in guitar rig. Use the envelope filter to control the speed of the wah. I believe you right click on the envelope filter rate section and assign it to the wah. Right click on the sweep bar on the wah interface to use a modifier. This will control the sweep width on the interface.  I'm not home and I'm doing this from memory. But this is what I do.

Ok, it's the LFO unit. I found a video that shows this being done. It's in Spanish, but it should help.

What kind of pedal are you using (I'm assuming  it's MIDI)?

I assume the OP is using a MIDI expression pedal of some description, and wants to record his own wah-playing rather than use an auto-wah effect. If he wanted auto-wah he would use it as he seems to know his way round GR.

Sonar does not record the effects so you have to leave the effect active on the track to hear it. If you want to save the track with the effects, you have to Bounce to Track it.

always forget this myself I wish there was a way to use sonar were we could create an audio track from the initial playing of FX and synths as an option

You  can put the vst as a soft synth so you can record the MIDI movements?  Read this thread... it may be applicable:

Piece of Cake, Go in to the Controller/Surface and setup an ACT midi contoller with the inputs set to wherever you pedal comes from (midi wise). Then, hit Controller/Surface Properties. At this point you have to bring focus to Gtr rig by clicking the Gtr rig GUI. Then, click back to the ACT Controller/Surface properties. click Lock to lock the focus on GTr Rig. Then, Search for the Real Wah Pedal (Bank 1, R1) sometimes you have to dig. Click the Real Wah Pedal button, it should now say, "midi learn". Now, wiggle your Expression Pedal and you should see Real Wah Pedal % going up and down. You're halfway there. Next, Click the 'W' located in the track view or the one in the Gtr rig gui (top right), the 'W' will turn red. Finally, hit Play and Wah Wah your heart out without missing the Golden Wah Take. You'll see your automation being recorded. As of X1 there's only one take automation envelopes so you'll need to duplicate the Audio track with Gtr Rig without the events to record another separate take without over writing your previous automation. X2 could possibly help that if X2 actually works. Cool thing is once you recorded the automation you can manually adjust later... FUN!
