Hi.  I recently found some old .wrk files that I would like to conver to midi files.  Does anyone out there know how to do this?  I don't have access to the cakewalk/sonar software anymore, just have the files.
Thanks a lot!

I did a little search and it seems most versions of Sonar will open your files. But you will need a copy of Sonar. I would ask in the X1 forum if X1 will open them as there is a demo version you can download for free. I found as far back a SOnar 6 still worked on this thread... http://forum.cakewalk.com...652&mpage=1&print=true

Adding to what Cactus wrote:
.wrk is not a similar file format as .jpg or .wav. that can be converted to something. They include all the information about the projects, not only the MIDI-data. That's why you'll need to be able to open the projects to save the included MIDI-tracks separately.

WRK is a Cakewalk proprietary format. You must have a version of Cakewalk or Sonar to open them. As Cactus said, you may be able to download the demo version, load the WRKs and then export them to MIDI (.MID) files and export the audio tracks (if there were any) to WAV files.

Hey. Welcome to the Sonar forum. Strange request for a first post on our forum.
You've resurrected a 5 year old thread which isn't likely to get much attention. Usually best to just start your own thread.

But as I'm here now what file do you need converted?
