Is there a way to summon up brushes instead of sticks? Trying to replace some crappy drums on a 4/4 jazz swing tune. Thanks.

There might be some SFZ brush samples in the sample library. I believe there is even a brush kit, did you check it out ?

Also, If you have any good brush sample just drag and drop them on to sd3's 4 extra tracks (Tracks 9 thru 12).

I don't know of any brush samples for Session Drummer.
A quick search of Sonar Forum I found this thread: http://forum.cakewalk.com/Need-soft-light-brush-on-snare-in-Session-Drummer-3-m2430663.aspx

Of course you could also get this by buying an AD2 add on pack or SD2 SDX if you have those programs

Haven't seen a brush kit, maybe I didn't look hard enough. The tricky part is I need swirled brushes. I have repurposed drum tracks I recorded from other projects as groove clips with success in the past , but all the swirly brush ones I can recall are in 3 instead of 4. I suppose I could trim 3 down to 2 and loop that. All the brush samples I have are wave files and tend to be too busy and not swirls.

Slice the sample up and then Drag and drop the samples on to the kit pieces.
Then use midi to trigger them.

Chocolate audio has a jazz brushes expansion for SD3 for 12.49 USD
https://steamdb.info/app/303641/
But my go to is AD2 Apak Modern Jazz Brushes.
https://www.xlnaudio.com/products/adpak/modern_jazz_brushes
They will always have it on sale of 50% at 40USD.
I have use this Apak on several tracks and it sounds great and easy to use.

I'm assuming you don't have Addictive Drums. Platinum Samples has this Jim Scott brush kit for SD3. It's currently $15. Hard to go wrong.

You might also check out these Chocolate Cake kits. Don't know the price.

Probably none of these kits have swirly sounds. For that you might need a more advanced MIDI drum app.

But it seems to me there is a brush kit that comes with SD3. Look again.
