For all you arp freaks out there, this one is free and this one is good. RandArp.

Lots of the beaten to death common arp modes and the more rare gate control included.

Played with Blue Arp a long time back and remembered it being good. Looks also like there have been quite a few updates over time. Have to kick the tires again.

The Band19
I feel (personally) like arpeggios (done by the DAW) are like cheating? Like using BIAB? I'm sure some use them effectively, and creatively? So, I don't begrudge anyone else using them to create something special? But I like to "play it..." And the keys are so flexible already (IMO) I mean, a 10,000 "companion?" Ok, I understand that, but one for 100? Jergins and an IPhone, much better deal...

Installed and it wants to act as a VST2 audio FX.  Shouldn't it be a MIDI FX?...which I can't seem to make.  The tutorials are all using Fruity Loops...so I'm not seeing the parallel settings in Sonar X3 to do.

I got it kinda working, but seems I should be able to just open it as a MIDI FX in say a MIDI track that powers my chosen synth.  But I have to use it on the audio track AND then open it as a VST2 synth in addition on another track.  Not making sense at this point.  With my unusual scenario...it doesn't matter what my MIDI channel in/outs seem to be set to either...

After an hour of struggling...any suggestions would be appreciated.

Band19 hit a nerve, because his assessment is true.

If I had the talent, could pull off the cascading riffs without having to resort to mechanical crutches.

Still, an arp can be played like an instrument, and requires some practiced technique. Can't help but thinking that Bach is rolling over in his grave.

Out of the closet again and only tested this in the "R" word... Works in that heathen environment solid and without flaw. Sonar may require the inclusion of third party agents like EnergyXT, Bidule to establish sequential connections. This would easily fix the roadblock mixmkr is experiencing.

Here's a thread which specifically mentions BlueArp in the setup: http://forum.cakewalk.com/3rd-party-arpeggiator-how-to-set-up-in-Sonar-m3027803.aspx
