I'm probably missing something here.
If we got Sonar, Reaper, and the vst version functions well, what are the benefits of having a standalone program. What's it good for if we have a viable host DAW?
I know many heavy weights, Amplitube, Guitar Rig have standalones. I have never used them thinking that they are just excess disc space wasted.

reread your post and saw the "if". Maybe you don't need the standalone as well. Are there any benefits to having any standalone program if you have a dedicated DAW? I can't find a single advantage to be gained...
