Many DAW's are really ramping up on Notation features. Steinberg has hired ex sibelius team members, Presonus has bought Notion, Reaper is getting notation view, and is very receptive to feature requests. It seems though, with regards to the Cakewalk team, we have a chicken egg problem.
Features lacking here means less notation composers. (Untapped market)
Less notation composers means the team don't consider this a priority.
Millions of youths around the world have classical music lessons and will appreciate a good notation editor build in.
These youths will use the best DAW for that purpose and as you can see above many DAW's are taking this seriously. Many of those youths would probably stick with that DAW because of the steep learning curve with today's daw's. Not to mention the word of mouth among people. Also if they are forced to buy expensive specialist software these people would be much more DAW mobile. i.o.w there is no daw lock in for them. And this is bad for Sonar.
Please Cakewalk, even though you think this should not be a priority the reality is, it is. The labor you put into this will pay off with inroads into a largely untapped market of composers in respect of Sonar.
This is also true for other features regarding the EDM market.
