LOL see what I mean. Nothing but fun here!

Yeah, the OP is dreaming...but I have to admit to sharing a significant degree of frustration over the whole state of DAW technology. I spent the better part of 2 years fighting hardware/software configurations, changing motherboards, power supplies, memory, processors, audio interfaces, firewire interfaces, video cards, OS tweaks, patches, Registry changes, manual .AUD file changes, driver upgrades/downgrades before I finally created a stable DAW. I've never used anything but Sonar. I'm fixed at 6.2.1 and have no plans to upgrade or ever use anything but Sonar. But the whole DAW experience has left me cold. And that has been anything but fun.

We all have to realize that while we are users, we are also "pioneers and testers". This technology has come a long way in the past several years and is still a work in progress.

I go back to the V20 and Commodore 64. To have what we have now is just amazing and will only get better!! Keep pushing the envelope!!

all i see in this forum is nothing but problems problems problems with Sonar7 not to mention Vista.

Well, for one thing, the purpose of this forum is to help people who are having problems. Its not a social gathering. Not all problems are faults with the Sonar software, but could be computer, Operating system, driver problems with soundcards or just plain user errors.

As for Vista, that's a Microsoft problem and has little to do with Sonar, which does work with Vista assuming you can get Vista to work.

Have you been to the Logic Forum? There's a lot of people in there having problems and asking questions too.

I remember when some one suggested that I build my own studio. I looked at him puzzled and then thought to myself. that won't happen.

Its an expensive game. The industry is fickle. This is not possible!

The cost of building a DAW system or home studio is ridiculously cheap these days. I remember some people actually pulling the money together to buy a studio which cost thousands after being let down. Mixing and recording stuff. Now I am able to do the same with limited equipment, but equivalent results.

OK this computer tech, music frenzy, freaky stuff also has its down sides. you have to be a comp wizard/geek to get on with it. When I looked at the Logic forums and seeing so many people complaining it made me think doesn't this happen with all of us (problems and problem solving in your application). I am happy that some are getting good results with there DAW. But. dont we all have the same problems. I am only happy, that there is limited amount of swearing in this forum!

Outlook...when I bought my first car it was not unlike my first computer.
Didn't know much about either one.
Due to not being wealthy I repaired my car when it broke. I didn't worry about the many issues that one may face, simply faced them head on and learned.
Figuered it didn't matter really which car I drove...they all need attention.
I've handled my quest in building my DAW with the same attitude.
To the OP, in my opinion with your attitude you going to be traveling on a very bumpy road no matter what equipment you use.

Just spaced out and had to add by 2cents.

I got Logic running on my IPhone yesterday... I'm never looking back.

And I on my IPod; damn IPod was good for 6 months twice told.

IOWs:
... 99% of my problems are non-S7 related: i.e., sound-cards, mics, DACs, vocals, mixing, mastering, etc.
S7 Rules for me! ... and has inspired me to learn-all-music!

Thank you mates for helping my journey to learn-all-music with S7 as the hub!

This is the part of his post that proves the six million dollar man is just a troll. There are far more positive comments and threads about Sonar than there are complaints in this forum.
