This is what worked for me:
1. Install the Firewire legacy drivers (Device Manager, IEE 1394, Update Driver Software, Browse My Computer, Let me choose, then pick the driver with Legacy in the title)

Hi i'glad to hear this, liquid mix is awesome

my win 10 doesn't offer that choice, those fw  legacy drivers weren't included in my win 10 install, I do think I can find them somewhere on the web, though
