I'll give the bakers credit for making X3 work like a dream. As far as how things work and the results, X3 is aces. As for the GUI, imagine and nice smelling air freshener that looks like a turd and that's the X3 GUI.

Don't go flaming me because I want to see things the way I want to and not the way you think it should be. It is completely ridiculous that software cannot be designed to be usable regardless of esthetics. The GUI for the X series STILL is annoying to look at. Why should I have to struggle to see what the values are in the console view? I may be wrong, I'll have to do some checking, but it seems to me that this would fall under the disability act.

At least tell Panu how to mod it so I can use it. If it were not for him, I would still be using 8.5.

Don't use color since X1 as I've learnt that it's not supported anymore. But I though I've heard it's being resumed in X3.. and I hate to work with step sequencer clip that is being assigned as grey color, so in X3 I try to right click on the grey color clip and expect (wish) to find a color option.. Not there.

Which specific color option are you talking about?

I agree that we need the FULL color options back. I work at a bit of a distance from my monitors when I'm mixing and I use a control surface (And I'm getting older so my eyesight ain't what it used to be). In Sonar 8 I was able to make the selected track change to a totally different color when I touched a fader. This made it very easy to see exactly where I was. In X3, just the little, tiny area behind the label changes colors. This is REALLY hard to see.

Not even close.   Besides, Windows offers accessibility options.

Living in the UK and regularly travelling to the US, I know how disability is treated in the US, regardless right now I'm clueless as to what the issue is, probably because I've never used Panu's stuff. My advice, tell us specifically what you want, rather than compare with another product. I'm keen to understand what the actual issue is (in these international forums where govt. regulation is what the NSA does by stealth to all nations, oh and add China and a sprinkling of MI6). From what I understand there isn't much limitation in the colour palette. (Yes the u is important, they gave you the statue of liberty after all whilst we invented the web).

Cheers...

Don't go flaming me because I want to see things the way I want to and not the way you think it should be. It is completely ridiculous that software designed to be usable regardless of aesthetics causes some folks to complain. The GUI for the X series STILL is great to look at. Why should I have to struggle to see what values these complainers have? I may be wrong, I'll have to do some checking, but it seems to me that they would fall under the disability act.

Agreed. X3's GUI is the most beautiful among all daws, IMO, of course.

HOWEVER....
