What I can't figure out is why Petey is so married to the "soundcard" built into his system board. Doesn't he realize that it's a toy -- latency issues completely aside? Does he really think it sounds good?

That's incorrect. The correct question would have been "Does he really think?"

Strummy,

OBVIOUSLY, you didn't read my original post in this thread. It states that a new soundcard simply avoids the issue and doesn't FIX anything. We've all ready ruled out that this is not the correct solution.

Let's see, do you even know what "obviously" means? Obviously you don't otherwise you wouldn't have been so ****ed as to say that, especially since you have posted your original post 6 or7 times now. You have ruled out the soundcard because you are an idiot, we have ruled out the possibility of you ever gaining the mental capacity to realize reality. I think, hands down, you are thee dumbest person I have ever seen who could type.

Z - I think it's the 'poorly written code' of the software myself - am I the only one round here who can understand this!

I'm now off to give them back the blunt crayons and have my brain defragmented.

I do like the wall paper in here - its sooooooooooooooooo spongy and soft.

Interesting discussion about the RealTek AC97 chip over at the MC forum, for anyone unfortunate enough to be reading any of this guy 'Pistolpete's threads.

http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.asp?m=448593

I doubt very much if it will interest him at all, I strongly suspect that he is pretending to still have a RealTek, for the purposes of winding everyone up.

Having contributed to this thread, I now feel an overwhelming desire to shower. Bye.

Actually, pencils are made with graphite these days.

Jessie, I am very upset by your comment.

Just when I assumed I was the most pedantic person in the forum, along you come and usurp me - it just isn’t good enough.

I'm only kidding - anyway, I'm off for a hot dog now.....

Pete, try the new 2.8 Beta drivers (Asio4all). I just did an install on a friend's laptop and it works quite well.

As a reminder delete your aud.ini file after loading the new driver. Run a new profile and then start at the lowest settings and work your way up until things work the way you want. I would start at 16 bit 44.1 and then try 16/48....

Hey there Z, how did you get waaaaaaaaah through your spellchecker?

Everyone knows it's only got 7 'a's in it and a , not a - I suggest that you defragment your spellchecker - mind you, that won't help much because of it's useless code.

Better still, throw a load of cash at an upgrade; may I recommend the one I'm using - its a Realtek Troll-Stumper Mk4:

This little beauty doesn't even let you think a misspelled word.

One last thing - I'd better apologise for coming across to your forum from the 'Spellcheckers of the World Untie' pages - I know it upsets some people.

Keep up the good work

Steeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeve

PS - Yes I know Pete, it was meant to be humourous...........

I don't like using beta releases. I'm running 2.7 right now without any major issues, however the real-time effects are still kinda unusable.

I see SteveStrummy put one of his home movies in his signature. I always did think he played a strat.
