Tim,

It definitely doesn't suck, vox sounds a little like an airy John Mayer though.  You definitely need Barry White vox on this piece.   Cool song.    Well played and mixed, quite nice.   My wife hates all my stuff so don't let it bother you, I would be more worried if she showed an interest.  I get plenty of time alone in my cave due to her disinterest;)

This is absoflippinlutely terrific and you can tell your girlfriend that I said so (boy will that under-impress her  ----- on the other hand maybe you better not).  I love everything about this number.  The song itself is terrific, as are the instrumentation, and mix.  As far as the vocals -- the BGV's are wonderful  ---- and --- the lead vocal is perfect.  The phrasing, feel, on-the-edge tone, and gravelly quality are perfect for this song and really add to the groove.  IMHO too much of the pop-ish stuff coming out now is too durn polished at the expense of the feel or style of the song.  Setting a mood of the song is forgotten in favour of volume and over selling the melody/lyrics.  I guess this opinion goes back to my love of the old style Blue.  A lot of the old Blues men didn't have opera quality voices but, man, they could sell a song.  I remember hearing an interview with the later Phoebe Snow who was talking about the one of the first times that she performed in a New York City club.  Thelonius Monk was in the audience and she tried to do the best job she could.  After the performance he came up to her and said -- that was good but quit trying to be perfect.  She said that it took her a while but she finally realized that he meant to feel the song and don't forget style.
You got lots of style on this one --- nice job!!

Tim, you need a new girlfriend, or she need some new ears.

I wish I sucked like that.  Love the vibe.   This is a very catchy number.

Hey, Tim,

Your girlfriend needs to get her ears checked,  this is really a cool song with a nice smooth vibe, and I think the vocals fit it perfectly!

Love the clean guitar tone and playing, and I definitely agree with James about the Hall and Oates reference.

Really nice work, Tim!

Thanks Mark. John Mayer works for me:)

Freddy man. Thanks. What a wonderful comment. Your too kind. Enjoyed your take on the status of pop music nowadays. Pretty right on I think. I think maybe what made it "feel good" to you was that I played the elec fills part and sang the voc at the same time. Worked out (this time:)

Hey Daryl. Thanks. Glad you liked it:)

Thanks Bob. So, Hall and Oats meets John Mayer. Ok. Sounds good.

Your girlfriend would despise the stuff I've been on then.

I like the whisper vox.

Very cool.

It's like we'd hear on the smooth jazz station here.  Made me mellow.  It really sounds good on the BX8a monitors.  Full and tight.

Thanks Bapsi and Warren.
Bapu sure got a lot of posts in on that one:)

Glad you guys liked.

Everyone IS a producer indeed. I think she was having other issues at the time. Maybe cause I never cook dinner. Or, she had to take out the trash. Or, there was a rock in her shoe. Sun was in her eyes. idunno.

So Warren. You're in PHOECAGO,ARINOIS?????
UM... Ok. But, wherever you are, do they really have smooth jazz stations there?

Hey Tim. Maybe your girlfriend is like the girl in your song..."you're gonna feel what you feel"...and hates being reminded of it. In any case having spent the last several days checking out your "Circles" CD (great stuff..Lovin "Sunny Blue" and "Fuzzy Love") I was missing your voice! But, I found it here again...in your chorus, and yeah +100 on the harmonies. Really cool guitars. Different drums but perfectly suited. Great chorus, even the strings. I'd say What a hook..except...it's just So sad. Maybe that's what your GF meant. I really don't feel qualified to say this...but here it goes---leave off the Barry White stuff. I mean where else is there to go? You sort of summed up the BW sentiment in just this tune. Thanks Tim!

Sucks?  I don't think so.  Like most women, she's wrong!

This being said, this is not my favorite Timmy tune (that would probably be 'Reach'), but it's a nice song and your track is really, really good.  Mix is perfect.  I wasn't crazy about the vocal treatment, but that's probably because you were trying not to sound like yourself (the later being invariably terrific).  Just my take on it.

Thanks Bill. glad you got the jist of the voc. I think "unique" is what the objective was. Please sit down now....

Hey James. Thanks man. And, again, thanks for buying my CD. Much appreciated. I got a 6 pack last night on you.
LOL, "Sunny Blue" and "Fuzzy Love" are the only ones on the CD I didn't write.
go figure...:)

Thanks sycle.

Hey Philz. Yea, I like 'Reach' also. Too bad you didn't like the voc. I think that simply means, ypu have to go listen again and again etc. And, yes, I was trying to not be me:) Thanks Philz..

I like it, sounds like something my wife would put on the radio when it's time to dim the lights in the bedroom and....

I would bring the drums and vocals back a bit, this kinda features the guitar and needs to breathe a bit more.  other than that I like the song and the production Timidi.

The track sounds great, though I get what she is saying.

I thought maybe it would sound cool with that voice with a telephone like effect on the lead vocal, where the plaintive sound may sound more in kind with the lyrics. Then go with the normal voice on the chorus.

The snare is a bit floppy for my tastes withint this genre.

I think it's a really good tune. It's got a great hook and it's got a sound. I like your vocal's on this. Does your GF truly dislike this? Somebody mentioned the low end. I'd agree the very low end could be rolled back JUST a hair, but not much.

Peace, Ian

Love this track, it has a real late-nite vibe. I think your vocal is great too, it just sounded original in a good way, why would you want to sound like another artist? I really like the V-vocal or robotized bvox too, it shouldn't work, but to me it does.

Great stuff
