Nice little chugger, the mix sounds reasonable here but you never know what others might suggest.  Not sure the Arped bass intro works as well as it could and it shut off rather abruptly at the end.

Sounds Great!  Excellent singing.   Great job overall!  The track seemed to have cut off prematurely.  Need to extend the ending and the guitar solo.

    hey charlie,
good work for your first mix.

this is hard rock, you need to compress and limit the heck out of the master bus and bring the overall rms way up.

the mix is muddy, too, you need to cut out some of the low end on some of the tracks and clean up the bass, put some compression on it as well and make it punch more.

the vox need to be clearer/cleaner in the mix as well.  make them punch thru the mix.

and the ending sounds like an accident.  if you want it to end abruptly it shouldn't cut off the reverb tails, especially of vox.

    good work.

you're welcome, Charlie.  I always hope that people take my critiques in the spirit that I give them.  I never have any disdain for anyone's music here (unless it offends my beliefs, of course) and I always try to find something good to say with the critiques.  you have great talent here - your playing and singing are quite good - but none of us start out with perfect mixes!!!  you should have heard my first one!!! lol!

Pretty cool tune. I could actually understand the words.... which is pretty rare in this genre....at least clearly.

    Good job.

OK.. the end.... finish it with a button ending...wrap it up in whatever way you want but don't fade a hard rock tune.... end it big.

Love the tune. Awesome melodic vocal melody and a great performance of it. Love the guitar.  The ending I'm hearing sounds cut off like it exceeded Soundclicks size limitation? Second listen, a really outstanding tune.

I know one thing that's been helping me as I'm learning to get better at mixing, is the EQ graph in Alloy, where you can see all the frequencies in the track you are working on.  Yes I know "use your ears" blah, blah, blah.   But sometimes visual confirmation of what sounds are where can be helpful (at least for me).

For example, I was surprised by how far down a lot of sounds start off at, and many of them which I hadn't been high passing, I now do.

Anyway, great song, good mix.   Little bit of tweaks it could be a great one.

    Thanks for sharing :)

YOu know, more than ever I'm realizing that we all have different ideas of what a mix sounds like.  I think this is one of the best, cleanest, rock mixes I've heard up here, including our Bliss.  CLEAN, Mark Cline mixes our Pugtones music very clean (imagine that :-) ) I can tell which instrument is where.  I can do that with this.  I really like the vocals.  Remember, I'm a songwriter and not an engineer.  Those guys have forgotten more than I ever knew about mixing.  So, I liked the tune a bunch.  I hated the ending LOL!!

    Charlie,

Listened again and again and I'm not a rocker but the mix just really really works. No mash up of guitar on guitar on guitar, simply a place for everything. Very nice. You should be very happy with this.

The ending? I'll wait on that. The delay on the vocals  is a little heavy for me in places. I'd like to not know it's there but it stands out in a couple places.

Great vocals, great lyrics, great guitar work, and again a great mix.

    Humbly Yours

Enjoyed the track.  Guitars sound great and drive this along.  Drums sound a little mechanical.  Programed?  Crashes are maybe a tad strong and yes, fix that ending.  Nice work.
