Mark thanks. I remember listening to TL and really liking their music... one of the all time great twin guitar harmony bands.

I think it's a gorgeous piece man..... especially at 00:01:15 where the drums come in! Anyway.... I feel a little goofy asking this but the violin is a real violin right? (assuming it's a given that the soulful guitar is real) I just need to make sure that technology still hasn't perfected a violin emulation (as good as some of them are). Thanks very much, Randy

G randy brown.... thank you for your kind words. To answer your question.... the strings at the point of and during the drums was in fact me playing a cello patch on the keyboard using Kontakt IIRC.... The fiddle at the very beginning and immediately after the drums and at the very end was also a synth playing a sampled fiddle... a real fiddle sampled and played back by synths. no real violins or fiddles were used to record this.

Sounds very good Herb. It does sound bright. I'm not sure it's bad though. You might see what it sounds like w/ a bit of the highs trimmed off the strings. Anyway, I had to look up arc. The sound of this is pretty cohesive, which it looks like is the purpose of the software? Nice tune. Peace, Ian

I just listened again with fresh ears...even after I just woke up it's a very pleasing, warm and organic sound...muy suave! It's the violin/fiddle at the top I was referring to...I was convinced it was real because of the placement of the articulations (mainly the crescendos and vibrato). You did an incredible job using the controllers...so is that patch (fiddle) also Kontakt? Thanks very much, Randy

You might see what it sounds like w/ a bit of the highs trimmed off the strings. For me, it's the sizzle that I really like....but then again I don't think I can hear all the highs I used to.

Guitarhacker Kenny: yeah this was posted some time in the past.... the center part that now has strings had horns and steel ...totally out of the character of the rest of the song. Someone also had commented that the twin guitars reminded them of the Scorpions. About that camera angle video.... you look like a friend of mine with whom I used to play in a band. He was a bass player. You also have a bit of a Willie N look about you as well. oh yeah, now I think I remember this tune ssshhhhh don't tell anybody , I actually grabbed Willie Nelsons guitar once and played a quick chord on it . this was back East when it was having some work done to it at a well know repair shop ... I do hope the day comes when I can look Willie in the eye & make amends to him by rolling him up one all the best , Kenny

I don't care which version this is. I don't care what gizzmos and technical tweaks are involved. All I care about is that this is magically beautiful. A work of genius that takes me to the highest plane of perfection where buddha-like (yep, I need to go on a diet!), I floated in perfect nirvana. (I am sure you will have guessed by now that I really like this piece!). Gimme Gimme More!

Really beautifully done. I guarantee you they didn't have this on the Ark. Or, maybe they had 2 piano players, 2 fiddlers, gheeesh, I'm gettin' off here. Obviously I don't know what ARC is but I can tell you I listened LOUD on great monitors and it's beautiful! I was waitin' for that Hartley vocal, though. :-)
