pitch shift plugin?

Hi,

Does Sonar HS6 come with a pitch shifter plugin that works more or less like its Volume and Pan Envelopes? I'm looking at varying the pitch of a whole audio track over time.
Is there a "factory" plugin in Sonar HS6 that does this or something close to it?
Thanks!

To an extent, you can do it with the Groove clips editing functions. It's a bit crude, but doable, if you don't need to make drastic changes.
Can you elaborate on what you have in mind?
Check this thread. It may help.

    Robert,

    Thanks for your reply.
I'm looking at creating effects of "tape slowing down", for example.
I think Soundforge has this sort of "pitch envelope" thingie that allowed you to "zig-zag" the pitch of an audio file up and down, etc.
    Thanks

There is a free plugin called "TapeStop" that you can use. Download it from KVR Audio HERE. I'm not sure if this is exactly what you're looking for but it's a neat effect.

CLICK HERE to download a short sample of what TapeStop sounds like (change the file extension from ".smp" to "mp3" when saving or after downloading).

The effect is realistic sounding and can be tweaked for speeds up & down. For really precise work some editing will be required. All I did was record a short clip from a CD and enable TapeStop in the FX bin of the track. I then automated (yes, it reads/writes automation) a few "starts" and "stops" for the purpose of demonstrating its use.

    Papa,

Tried the Tapestop but didn't really do what I had wanted, which is to get a somewhat, "automated pitch bend" on an audio file.
I thought the old Cakewalk had Volume, Pan AND PITCH envelopes that could do the trick, "just like that", but can't seem to find a pitch env. in the "envelope" option.

Is there a simpler "factory" way of pitch bending audio (over say several seconds) that can be found in Sonar HS6, instead of using an external VST plugin?
    Thanks!

When I transpose midi files to a certain key and save them they work fine played back through Sonar or Media Play on my desktop which ha XP as it's operating system. If I copy the files to a thumb drive or a CD and play them on my laptop with Media Play all the Midi's are 1/2 step lower than they were on my desktop. The Laptop has Vista for the operating system.

What would be the cause of this problem?

    Haven't any idea.

Why not start a thread addressing the problem? Your question has nothing to do with the subject of this thread and you probably won't get any helpful answers because those who might be able to help (or have similar problems) won't be looking here for answers or suggestions.
