questions about X2a touch

So I'm using X2a Producer on a Win7 workstation. It's a dedicated DAW box, so I have no other uses for it. I really have no desire to go to Windows 8. Now I know that Win7 fully supports multitouch screens and has a tablet API. What I want to know is that if I were to get a multitouch LED monitor (the Dell s2240t is what I'm looking at), would the features like pinch zooming, multipoint touch, etc... work in Sonar? There is a Win7 x64 driver from Dell. The only unknown is whether the touch features in Sonar X2a were developed using the Win8 specific touch API, or if they were developed to be fully supported (or at least partially supported) in Win7.

The debate on whether touch actually improves workflow aside, I'm just trying to figure out if one of these monitors is a total waste of time without Windows 8.

SONAR only supports multi-touch on Win8. From http://www.cakewalk.com/products/sonar/touch.aspx "Touch is available on Intel-inspired Ultrabooks, other touch enabled devices and multi-touch displays running Windows 8"

Yes, Multi-touch in Sonar X2 only works under Windows 8 (not Windows 7).
I've use the 27" Planar Helium (model used in the Cakewalk videos).
At this time, multi-touch doesn't work in any other main-stream DAW application... so you won't be able to grab multiple faders/etc in any other DAW.

ok - thanks for the info. Does the pinch zoom work in the notation editor? The keyboard shortcuts do.
