serial number

I bought X-1 at the discounted upgrade price. Where is my serial number? It has been over an hour and no number has been emailed nor is it on my reg page. Any ideas?

I waited a week to get information for the upgrade to Production Suite and finally phoned.  5 minutes later I was fine.

    I'd recommend phoning.

I always get my purchases almost immediately. Perhaps your email client is putting them in your junk or spam folder. Add noreply@cakewalk.com to your contact list to avoid this in the future.

You can also check your account at store.cakewalk.com and see if its there.

Ah... It's not just me then. I took the plunge a couple of hours ago, upgrading from Sonar 6 Producer to Sonar X1 Producer. The website said that I should get my serial number and reg code within 15 minutes, but a following e-mail said to wait 45 minutes. As long as I get it sorted before the grace period runs out I'l be happy...

Hmmmm... I forgot that you need a serial number just to install the software. So this is more serious that I first thought. I've now forked out cash for something that I cannot use, and I don't have a timescale. Not a happy bunny.

I suppose I should hit the sack and worry about this later. It is weekend now, and I'll no doubt get nowhere until some time Monday.

I hope I don't have to wait for a call... I placed the order hours ago, and their offices are closed till Monday... and to make matters worse, I work until both before and after their business hours anyways... so I'd have to wait till NEXT Friday...

I have ordered today the "First Class" upgrade to look at it this weekend. Order is accepted, link for download is there. But no Serial and no info about the "free" upgrade. If they are unable even to sell properly, I can guess the quality of the rest. PS the first forum I see where "Preview" is not working for me. And that is software development company. And I have already bought the software from them. OMG.

Day 2 waiting for the serial code... no response from Cakewalk, though they were able to send me ADS today... Anybody else who ordered yesterday get their serial codes yet? (Payment's cleared the bank already).

Did you check http://store.cakewalk.com like I told you to do? Logon to your account and you should have the serials and a link to download the code.

Did you check to see if the note went into your junk mail or spam folder? That often is the case.

Wait... did you pay with a CC or make a bank transfer? If you did it through your bank I'd imagine that could cause some delays.

I'm inside the USA, no problem with my credit cards, and ordered and downloaded the gate and compressor that's on sale last night, and still no serial or registration numbers posted on my store account. Even my Concrete Limiter's serial and reg numbers haven't been posted. Guess we have to wait till Monday.

The same as Tkrain - only ad is received. That is a bad joke: in the ad they again propose that I pay for Studio to get Producer. I have done that already! The payment was with PayPal, I could download the Studio.

I think they have done mistake in the info. They should write "several working days" instead of "45min". At least for me it is not a big problem. I just do not like when someone full me...

I had the same problem with my Concrete Limiter yesterday and called them, they were very supportive and gave me a serial number over the phone, I called back a second time to get a registration number and the guy sent me an e-mail (or vica versi)....so now it's up and running but the numbers still aren't posted in my account history.

I bought the box so I didn't have to wrangle with any of this stuff but it took three calls for me to get working download links to the free Anderton vids. Mind you I was loading them up with a bunch of other questions at the time as well so the request may have gotten lost in the fray.

I paid via Paypal. I logged into my Paypal account a short time later and the transaction had gone through.

In comparison, today I bought Guitar Rig 5 from Native Instruments. Within an hour I had placed the order, downloaded the file, installed and registered.

There is obviously a problem with the Cakewalk system at the moment.

Funnily enough, a similar thing happened to me when I ordered Sonar 6 PE back in 2007. There were no download options for Sonar back then, not for the full product anyway, and I therefore had the product serial number with the media. But I had to e-mail Cakewalk to chase the registration code. That was over the weekend too, and I finally got my reg code by the following Tuesday.

Hi guys, Also had this problem, Trying to get a serial for producer expanded, and also purchase the compressor on sale.. I am worried as I sent numerous emails in the last couple of months with absolutley no reply, not acceptable, however ~Andrew has replied to me via the forums, so there is a small silver lining. If you read all of the above posts you will see that we have checked our cakewalk accounts, and checked our spam settings. There is, quite simply, an issue with the Cakewalk system, which I am sure will be resolved after the weekend is over. Most of us have also raised support tickets too...

As I've said before... checking store and spam almost hourly. I know the transaction's gone through because the bank already told me it did. This is a Cakewalk store issue, related to their new policy of "checking" all transactions before issuing serial codes. The order page said this would take 15 minutes... the email said it would be 45 minutes... it's now been 28 hours, and Customer Support is closed till Monday (and then open 1/2 hour after I go to work till 1/2 hour before I get home).. so if my email ticket doesn't resolve it Monday I'm stuck till Friday... By that point, I will have disputed the charges and purchased a competitor's DAW. If Cakewalk is going to have a policy where a human checks every transaction before issuing serial codes, then they need to have a human to check the serial codes outside of banking hours.

** Update ** After sending a second email to Customer service... almost 30 seconds later I got the "Congratulations you have qualified for a free upgrade" email with the link to the upgrade page (which I have now done) and the serial codes are finally on for the Essential. Hopefully they'll stay on the ball and get the Studio serial code up, and I can get things rolling.

I agree that Cakewalk needs to get its act together on this. If I buy a downloadable product, I expect to be able to download it almost immediately. There is no excuse for these delays and Cakewalk management needs to address this with their sales team immediately.

Got the follow up serial number for Studio. I'm now officially a happy camper, but this is still something Cakewalk's gonna have to work on for the future. Sorta feel sorry for the guys in customer service, on Monday though... they're gonna see some angry tickets in there.
