Thank you! Much appreciated

Wow...   that was really good.    I simply liked everything about it, from the clean yet laid back performances to the wide open mix.   But most of all it was just the honesty shining through.   I'll probably wind up coming back to this one again.

Gary,

Fantastic playing, mix is really good too.  You mentioned difficulty with getting this mix right.    Personally,  I think these type of straight acoustic productions can be very difficult to track and mix as there are a lot of moving parts starting with your mike placement.   If your mic placement isn't right to begin with you might as well forget it.    You did a really good job on this track.

Regards

G minor at 4:15   ? just a thought.

This piece is a treat! So very well played and just a super mix, your time was well spent! A really great listen.

Tonally, at the level of a Chaquico. Compositionally, something Jerry Reed would approve of. Two of my personal favorites! Plus the sliding dobro played very very well. I think a banjo and Alison Krauss could fit in very nicely.

Great song, so very well done!

cheers,
-Tom

Great playing - 6th tuned down to D? Doesn't sound like a standard tuning.

Reminded me in the early part a little of a British folk singer/ songwriter Mike Silver

Very accomplished but it's crying out for some words - give it a go - you really might surprise yourself.

Sonar Platinum, Win10 Pro 64-bit, 16Gb RAM, Six-core AMD, Twin SSD. Instruments: Roland A88 and Taylor 314CE all through a Focusrite Scarlett 2i4. More ambition than talent.

Hi Daryl, apologies for the late reply but I've been away. Anyway, thank you, sir! Much appreciated. I considered making it longer but, since I already played every dobro lick I know twice, I thought playing them three times might be pushing my luck

Hi Mark. Thanks for listening and commenting. I especially appreciate the mix comments! Yea, I always struggle with mixing but when I start acoustic tunes I still manage to convince myself that simple instrumentation = simple mix. But it never works out that way  Thanks again!

Hi Tom, there's a G minor around 4:20-ish...does that count?

I'm glad you liked the tune and the mix. I'm really flattered by the Jerry Reed reference, too! Also, Alison Krauss can fit in nicely anywhere she would like, as far as I'm concerned!

Hi Andy, yes, the 6th string is tuned to D. I'm not familiar with Mike Silver but I'll have to check him out. I appreciate the listen and kind words but I'm not a lyricist or singer. Believe me, I've tried and I was surprised, but not in a good way
