The subjet indeed.
MarahThis forum software is most hateworthy. It encourages sloppy IDGAF replies, cos the cost of GAF is too high. And it DOES reflect, seriously and negatively, on Sonar: The things that are not right with this forum software should be instinctively anathema to experienced users and developers of software of any kind. The fact that it's being offered by the developer of extremely complex and presumably high-end music production software speaks volumes. Not because the people who developed the forum software also developed Sonar (of course they didn't) but bec it shows that the people who develop and market Sonar are either unable to recognize or unwilling to reject bad software design and implementation when it's staring them in the face, and have no issues offering such software to their customers with a straight face.
Not to mention that for any real 'day gig or product-- it would be
warranty call back time'. I have a customer who bought into some very nice control system software, made by a small service' responsive co. Subsequently several years and a recent' up-grade later there was trouble.
Now get this. They (the vendor) in so many words, 'can't quite fix it, seems the new programming was farmed out to some hired guns over seas (not that 'location is relevant I suppose) and 'that group' no longer exists as they have moved on to other jobs’.
WTF?
