GROUP BUY - 50% OFF + FREE GIFT - ALL Orange Tree Samples for Kontakt. FINAL DAY!!!

Since last year's group buy was such as success, we at Orange Tree Samples have decided to have another sale this year, but this year, we also have our biggest product introduction to date -- it's called Evolution Electric Guitar – Strawberry, and it's the first guitar in our exciting and innovative new series of full featured, ultra-realistic guitar libraries for KONTAKT. The group buy discount will apply to all Orange Tree Samples sample libraries, including the upcoming Evolution Electric Guitar - Strawberry, which will be released on May 31st at the end of the group buy.

Here's more about Evolution Electric Guitar - Strawberry:

Evolution Electric Guitar - Strawberry is an innovative new electric guitar sample library that provides what we are confident is the most advanced and realistic sounding sampled guitar library available. This sample library for KONTAKT is the result of a combination of state of the art sampling, physical modeling principles and highly advanced and proprietary scripting. The powerful lead guitar engine features extensive articulations and utilizes Orange Tree Samples' proprietary Mind Control (TM) technology to enable you to easily customize the library's mapping. The rhythm guitar strumming engine lets you create highly authentic rhythm guitar parts with unlimited chord options -- from power chords, to triads, to 7ths, 9ths, 11ths, diminished, sus4,"Hendrix chords," you name it -- with ease. It was developed using specially-recorded strum samples -- a key factor for creating authentic strummed chords on the fly that keeps many guitar sample libraries from sounding authentic. The strumming engine will help give your tracks unparalleled realism and eliminate the need for having to tediously hand code or edit midi in order to achieve realistic sounding strums. Popular studio techniques like double tracking are performed with the touch of a button. Just like a real guitar, you can detune or capo Evolution Electric Guitar - Strawberry, a feature that was previously unheard of in sampled guitar.

Evolution Electric Guitar - Strawberry was recorded dry so that you can choose your favorite amp simulation and effects to attain just the right sound, from pop to rock to metal to blues to funk to R&B to hip hop to jazz. It will be available May 31, 2010 at a list price of $199 USD, but as part of this GROUP BUY you can get it for as little as $99.95 USD. Special upgrade pricing for Strawberry Electric Guitar users is available and -- I'm sure you'll appreciate this, Strawberry users -- we're going to let the upgrade pricing be discounted in the group buy too!

The old Strawberry and Strawberry Extended libraries are discontinued, replaced by the new Evolution Electric/Acoustic Guitar product line. Evolution Electric Guitar – Strawberry includes all the content from Strawberry Extended Electric Guitar, and adds a rhythm guitar component with 1 GB of new samples, plus an improved lead guitar interface.

Thank you so much, Luke!! I'm listening to your music right now--I really like "The Journey Begins". It has a really cool dynamic and tone that both sounds reminiscent of older 80's/90's sci-fi music and modern soundtracks as well. Great job!

Judging by last year's group buy it should be pretty easy to hit the 50% OFF tier and beyond, but I'll need all the help I can get spreading the word about this sale.

    Awesome, I love 50% off

Thanks for checking out my tunes, Greg.  I wrote "The Journey Begins" back in 2007 and I'm looking to revise it once I get new orchestral software.  My wife says that it's a masterpiece, however, I'm much more critical than that and believe it needs work still, lol .  The other two tunes "Starless Night" and "Into the Darkness", I wrote those within the past month.  The guitars in them are from stock Kontakt 4 routed through Guitar Rig 4 Pro.  I'm looking to swap them out, of course, with something better!

    Luke,

So, you have a wife that loves your music? That is priceless.

Of course, I have no further comment on my own situation.

Okay, I'll comment. Over more than a decade, and showing my wife around fifty songs (out of several hundred), I've had a few songs she loves, several she likes, but she's a pretty tough critic. I've heard a lot of, "That's just not my taste." Or, "It's too progressive (or complex); I'd like it if it were simpler." Consequently, now that I've written a bunch of simple songs to entertain my kids, and I think my wife likes those the best of any of my original songs. I clearly didn't meet her at one of my gigs back when I was actively playing colleges, clubs, fests, etc.! I married a music critic!!! :)

It's nice when your wife likes your music (or at least understands why you spend so much time and money on it!). It makes home life a bit easier.

Greg, I've heard some great things about this guitar library from edrummist, and I'm looking forward to it--specifically the "strum" feature. I think that's what many of the (otherwise great) guitar libraries are missing these days.

    Thanks for the offer!

I wanted to share an example of what one of the lead patches in Evolution Electric Guitar - Strawberry sounds like, played just from a 2-octave MIDI keyboard: http://www.orangetreesamp...udio/EvolutionLive.mp3

This was played entirely live, with no editing afterwards.

For anyone who didn't catch my thread about Evolution Electric Guitar - Strawberry from last week, I had put up demos of Evolution's predecessor library, Strawberry Extended, which, I suppose you could say,  was the library Evolution Electric Guitar - Strawberry evolved from. The samples used in these demos are still part of Evolution, along with, I think, more than 1 GB additional samples, new functionality and chord strumming. Still, I find Strawberry Extended, as it was (now to be replaced by Evolution which does everything Strawberry Extended does and a lot more), an incredibly good library.

We had a discussion in the earlier thread about how demos, unsurprisingly, always present sample libraries and VSTs in the best light, but upon a very critical listen, often also reveal a library or VSTs weaknesses. With that in mind, what I find so impressive about the below demos -- besides some very good playing -- is the depth of articulations, smooth transitions, "dirt" and range of dynamics -- two things a demo producer cannot fake, no matter how talented. It's either their in the samples or it's not (although, in the case of Strawberry, it's there in the Kontakt scripting too, however, it's impossible to tell that from a demo, as all a demo artist needs to do is creative midi editing).  I think all one needs to do is to listen to the "Elusive Blues" demo to get an understanding of the depth of this library.

The winning entry from Orange Tree Samples' "World Bass Star" contest from last year was a song from Peter Andersson of Stockholm, Sweden. His song features Cherry Bass, Cherry Picked Bass and Strawberry Electric Guitar (the predecessor of Evolution, which uses the same guitar). http://www.orangetreesamp...r2009/Cherry_Choke.mp3

Peter's one man band is called "For Pete's Sake." Since the contest, I've gotten to know more of Peter's music (and also become friends) and find him to be a very talented musician, songwriter and vocalist. I really love his song "So" from his MySpace page. http://www.myspace.com/pekadan

I am a cheap bastrich (LOL) so I want the 50 percent off

bBut you seem to be a real nice guy who puts lots of hard work into your products and your not deceptive like some other vendors on this and other sites,  plus you have a nice quality product!!

So if by some chance it stays at 40 off I still will purchase the Evolution for its rhythm guitar potential. As I stated earlier somewhere I have he Musiclabs RG and RS, Rob Papens RG, and the steinberg VG (can you tell im a frustrated guitar player stuck in a keyboard players body?

Thanks Greg for being a regular guy with a good product who although my shekels payment for your product wont pay ur rent this month, lets you know we appreciate you

I also think Greg's a pretty good guy and that this product is worth it, even at 40% off. He's trying to get a really good product out in the middle of an already crowded field, and I hope he succeeds!

Would it be easier for us to justify that extra 10% discount to our spouses? Of course! Will that extra 10% discount make the library sound any better? Of course not! How could it? Have you heard those demos?!?

Just to confirm two things, Greg:

    1. The group buy actually ends Sunday, May 30 at 11:59AM (one minute before noon), right? There are 31 days in May, and I wanted to be sure people don't think they have until midnight on the "last day in May".

    2. There are no samples in this library from left-handed guitars, hm? That's too bad.

The time zone listed is GMT.  So if you are in Central Time (GMT -6), like me, this is actually 5:59 AM.

Yikes! I don't know how many musician-type people will be up that early...unless they're still up from the night before!

I, for one, only see one 6:00 each day.

Well if its GMT or Sidereal time doesnt matter.. he "may" not make the 50 percent off mark but as I stated earlier, Ill pull the trigger at 40 off

In a sense, its a "boutique" library in that he doesn't have teh marketing of the "big boys" he relies on forums like this AKA as grass roots effort.

SURE I would like to see Greg have the same response as the IK MM 6 for 1 gb BUT i WILL support him and buy his product  because

    it sounds very very good

he is doing it all by himself(I think

I am, without getting PC or nationalistic, supporting a home town guy

    1. Oops, looks like you caught my mistake! I meant "PM", not "AM" of course. But I guess not too many people will be complaining about the extra 12 hours to get the GB past 200 for the 50% OFF discount (which I'm confident it will reach).

    2. You know, the funny thing is that I AM left-handed, but I prefer playing on right-handed guitars and basses because I like my dominant left hand to be doing all the fretting work. :)

The Group Buy is now at 181 participants.  Based on how the final days of Group Buys tend to be where you see a lot more people joining, I think it's very likely that this will hit the highest discount level (200 or more participants = 50% off) either today or tomorrow.

I know that this might be being overshadowed by the IK group buy...but that's hit it's target.  Please listen to the demos and, more importantly, WATCH the video demo of the scripting/strumming.  It is flat out amazing.  This is one incredible deal.  Don't miss it.

You're right--this is a great deal on a great-sounding library. I hope more people take advantage of this before the time runs out! We just need to keep the offer in front of people for as long as possible.
