Wow, I'm only at page 4 but so far I'm LOVING the deepness of keybindings with the smart tool! I think this SHOULD be forced into view of those who claim X1 needs more clicks.

Wow, that was a very interesting read, thanks Noel.

I was happy to read that there were graphic drawing optimizations made, so far that does seem to be the case with X1's GUI. It's not just pretty, it's pretty AND awesome!

Some of the shortcuts and tips the employees listed later in the doc are worth their own tear-out, I'll be coming back to those for weeks!

SONAR X1 now additionally will release audio and MIDI devices when a crash is detected

Awesome! This was a huge pain for me in the past!

Also, did anyone else notice that the upcoming update will apparently be called X1A? It looks like it will at least include a few more hotkey shortcuts.

But where is the fix list?

This article about internals in the current product not bugs. I don't normally discuss fixes in these articles unless its for a point release as was 8.5.3.
Also its pretty hard to get at a list of fixes that are relevant to the last product. In each version we fix several hundreds of issues - some of them pertain to earlier versions and some are specific to the new features, so it can be hard to sort through and find the relevent bugs deterministically. Especially in a version like this when many issues don't apply anymore due to interface changes.
We'll try and look through our database when time permits and see if we can find some more by inspection.

So this is effectively a brand-new product with no direct lineage to its predecessor? A clean slate, a new base reference? OK, I can accept that. Whether my inner cynic will buy it, I don't know, but I'll have a talk with him and see how it goes.

Heh, it's not a "brand new" product (imho).  It's still got a lot of the _old_ along with the _new_.

But a lot of the "new" has great potential.  I say "potential" because some of it needs a little work still (as do all versions of any program on earth!).

I also thank Noel for providing this document.  It's a helpful one and an interesting one.

Some of the very long-standing bugs are still in X1, if that helps your inner cynic

Well said, lol, but I think the point is we'll be working differently now (in my case in the future) and some old bugs are irrelevant.
