[SOLVED] Softube Mix Bundle for X1 Expanded Discontinued?

Can't seem to find it in the Cake store!

There's a link to it in the description of the PACE iLok 2 article, but it's dead!

----------------------------------------Edit----------------------------------------
After feedback from both Cakewalk and Softube, it becomes clear that the item was never meant to be sold from the Cakewalk store indefinitely. It was to be offered only during the 40% off campaign. The plugins are still available (with their ProChannel "skins") from the Softube webstore, or any other authorized Softube dealer!

    Store says

The requested product could not be found or is inactive.

Yes I notice that too. Perhaps it just during the 20% off campaign...
You can't buy it from SOFTUBE web page either? The SOFT-TUBE PROCHANNEL Bundle does not exist?

I know they've signed up for the Propellerhead 'Rack Extensions' launch and it would be just speculation to think that has anything to do with it at this stage but it does seem strange to have part of your newest product range unavailable for sale.

I'm hoping it's just part of the Marathon Sale promotion and both have agreed to not sell it during that period, some confirmation would be nice.

As I recall, the Softube bundle was a limited time deal.  It was a sale, not artifact.

Last chance: Save 40% off Softube Mix Bundle through February 29th
This is your last chance to save 40% off this special bundle that includes both VST and ProChannel versions. The Softube Mix Bundle is a collection of five essential tools that give you full control over the key elements of building a mix—compression, equalization, and reverb. These plug-ins are the same great Softube plug-ins professional recording musicians rely on daily, so you can mix with confidence, knowing that the FET Compressor you put on your vocal track is the same one used on hit records around the globe.
How good is the Softube Mix Bundle? Read the latest Cakewalk Blog article from Mike Trujillo, who discusses its flawless performance at NAMM 2012.
Purchase the Softube Mix Bundle exclusively from the Cakewalk Store for only $179/£125/€149 - save 40% off the regular price of $299.

I suppose this could mean that it would only be available from the Cakewalk Store until Feb 29th. After that you'd have to get it from elsewhere (and the ProChannel 'skins' are available for free from Softube, apparently).

I took it to mean that it was only the 40% off sale that was ending, though...

It would be nice to get some clarification as I can see how these responses can be interpreted in many ways.  How many more would have bought it if they had known (clearly) that it would not be available, even at the elevated price, in the future.  I know I would have.  I had other priorities when it was offered, even at the discount prices, but still have the desire to purchase it sometime in the future.

As I said, I hope this is just the Marathon Sale and it being a separate vendor not wanting it on sale, type issue, and it will return after the sale is over.  finger crossed for this result and for clarification from Cakewalk.

    Thanks Jim.

Existing users will still get any necessary updates I'm sure.

So are there any other 3rd party vendors in the frame for PC modules presently?

I'd be interested to see how this result unfolded - was it an unsuccessful product for whatever reason, most likely too high of a price point (even though if taken on a per module price it was pretty much equal to individual module pricing), thus the offered sale pricing to try and get some interest.  If sales still did not increase with the sale price then I can see Softube having no desire to continue support (future development of the product) and it ending up being a one time thing.

Does this bode well for other third party developed modules?  I have no idea, but it's worth asking.  Or, will this remain a Cakewalk developed tool (fine by me as long as the modules continue in the vein they have been in both usefulness and quality).

Interesting questions raised by this development.

As always, individual mileage may vary.

I think it is probably fair to say if this bundle was a top seller ways forward other than discontinuation would have been found.

Having said that it is known that Softube are currently developing 'Rack Extensions' so there may have been some licensing issues rather than poor sales prompting this, the other thing of course would be whether any deal forged with Cakewalk and Softube was viable business for both parties.

This was one of my fears surrounding A/ Modular Pro-Channel not being made available to all Producer users without additional cost thus increasing the potential user base for modules, and B/ whether basing PC on VST technology is a good idea as developers are more likely just to port over existing tools without going the extra mile to make something specifically to add to the idea of working inside Sonar.

I still think PC is conceptually sound and Cakewalk are in the best position to maximise the useful interaction between it and Sonar itself.

However I can't see how it can be viewed as any kind of 'good news'.

    GPO Elite was on mine!
Thankfully that was on my priority list when it was originally offered so it's one I got in on.  The Elite packages have always been a "special" pricing type deal and have come and gone, and I think that's what they were designed to be, the Softube bundle however, being ProChannel modules, a major feature of X1 Producer Expanded, seems like they should follow the once released, they are always available unless replaced with a new version, type item.  GPO is not a Cakewalk product, ProChannel is a Cakewalk technology and one would hope that any third party developers they do business with would commit to having their products available for as long as ProChannel continues as a feature of X1 even if they decide to not continue future development (ie. new versions or other offerings).

I have to be honest and state that I'm very surprised that Cakewalk got into a temporary product range for a key feature of their core product if that's the case.

You think Softube developed a PC bundle just to feature as a special deal?

That sounds a bit far-fetched to me.

It's idot-MAD-city business if you ask me??

Making and investing time making a great product and then take it away from sale? 4 month later and now you can't buy it?
It's seriously wrong thinking of SOFTUBE and Cakewalk... I'm pretty sure Cakewalk want to sell the SOFTTUBE bundle but SOFTTUBE company say no!

So why would you discontinue something that is currently selling to do that?

Perhaps they've finally realised that the naysayer is right and they've decided to scrap it.

Maybe they'd agreed to make only a finite number of licences available?

    And they've sold out.

    Does seem strange though.
