unable to import .wav files

I'm running Producer 8.3 and I'm unable to import .wav files. When I import the file it says (busy) but never resolves. 
 
Any tips on how to fix this?

Dell desktop XPS 8700 3.4 GHz, 32 Gb RAM

Windows 7 pro

Midi controller: need recommendation

Audio interface: Line6 Toneport UX2

    Hi. Where are you trying to import the audio file from?
    Perhaps copy it to another location before importing?
    I remember this could happen (a long time ago) when trying to import directly from a cd.

    I'm trying to import directly from my PC. I tried importing a .wav and .mp3 file in addition to dragging and dropping BOTH. THE RESULT: It say the file is (BUSY) and proceeds to FREEZE at that stage.

    Now, when I go into the Options>Audio and change the audio drivers from ASIO to WASAPI the flie actually imports and plays. But then later crashes.
     
    I'm using Win 7 64 bit on i7 Dell 8700 XPS - 32mb RAM.
     
    Does anyone have a solution for this? Cakewalk?

    unfortunately Cakewalk probably has bigger fish to fry than problem solve Sonar 8.3
    But I can give you my suggestion. Try running Sonar as Administrator and see if that fixes it (right click on the Sonar desktop icon and choose "Run as Administrator" from that context menu).
    What are you using for an audio device ?

    I've had this problem in the past and the way I resolved it was to open it up in another DAW or wave editor such as Presonus Studio One  or Wavelab and exporting it from there with a different file name. Only then was I able to load it in SONAR. HTH!!!

    are you using the Windows 7 Toneport driver ?

    Sonar 8.3 was made to run on Windows xp which had no administrative rights.
    Windows 7 introduced Administrative rights in to every install and sometimes opening software that entails specific procedures. IIRC Drag and drop and sometimes import audio was one of those.
     
    Double check to make sure they are not broadcast time stamped samples

    Even when I had 8.3 100 yrs ago, I didn't have any issues importing wave files. It will work.
    But I never drag/drop, did it manually.
