Thatsastrat: That will get a country boys attention quicker than a diesel powered pick-up truck. Great line! Hi Bruce. Thanks very much for the listen and the kind comments. I especially appreciate the reference to the phrasing because, with my limited steel guitar ability, phrasing is pretty much all I've got Thanks again!

timidi: Hi Tim. Thanks for listening and commenting. Glad you ( mostly ) liked it. If you come up with any specific suggestion please let me know...The steel isn't new, by the way, I just don't play it much anymore. There are just too many strings to tune and I'm pretty lazy...loved your take on "Tequila ( Busch lite ) Sunrise". Thanks again! This is of course IMHO. cut the kik in half up until 1:24 (so just on the 1). Pull some of the click (5kish) out of the kik. Turn down the steel 2db. Pull down some of the doubler thing on the acoustic in the intro. Get rid of the triangle (it might still work if the kik is cut in half as above though). I don't know, it's starting to grow on me:) fix the timing on guit lick around 4:11. 3:45 needs a reverb tail. It ended too soon (SC foobared your file:)

Wow, that IS specific...and much appreciated. I'm leaving town on vacation today but, once I get back home, I'll try out all your suggestions and see what happens. Thanks very much for the help!

Makke: Hi. Thanks very much for listening, commenting and for venturing past Page 1 to find this. Glad you liked it. I really enjoyed your tunes 'Summer Twang' and 'Rowan Berry Wine'. ABeautifulVirus: oooooh lap steel. Hi Daren. Actually, it's a pedal steel but hey, close enough Thanks for checking it out and for the positive feedback. Nice job on your 'Doors' cover btw. vechung: Hi Vicente. How have you been? I'm glad you liked the tune. I agree, it is pretty country sounding...I blame the steel guitar Your recent post, 'Songs In The Night (Psalm 77)', is a great tune and definitely one of your best. markno999: Hi Mark. Thanks for checking out the tune and taking the time to comment. Much appreciated! Great job on 'Silver Blue and Gold'. Thanks again. krsongs: Hi Kiki. Thanks for listening and for the kind comments. Glad you liked the tune. ohgrant: Hi Grant. How are ya'? Thanks for stopping by, checking out the tune and for the kind words. Much appreciated.

Wow.... I'm a fool for a steel guitar.... kinda wish I had learned how to play one.... but that's another story....I'm just glad that you did. This is a gorgeous song. If you added vocals the steel would have to take a back seat to the vocals so I would tend to side on leaving it like it is. I had the opportunity to spend a weekend playing, jamming and talking with Jimmy Crawford back in the day. He used to be a part of the upper echelon of steel players in Nashville at the time he came to jam on a gig with us. He was also in the Nashville Bar Association.... talk about some hot steel players..... wow.... Yeah.... on the third straight listen. This is the kind of steel playing I love, but unfortunately, in Nashville these days, with rare exceptions, this is not the steel playing you tend to hear on the hits. Those days of the really great country music are gone except for a few real country players who keep the old music alive. This could definitely have a home in the right film as underscore. The guy sets in the honky tonk bar and remembers the girl and when love was good...... and this plays in the background as he reminisces. Love it!

Gary, you have come up with my ideal chillin' song, and I just caught myself reaching for a cold beer when I suddenly remembered I was at work.....! I so totally agree with the others that noted that you could have some excellent vocals here on this number - it's practically oozing lyrics at me as I listen. This is such a cool, smooth piece of work - great job! ~ John

Guitarhacker: Hi Herb. Thanks very much for listening and for the very kind comments. Yea, Jimmy Crawford was one of the greats. I've heard he was a very funny guy, too. There are still plenty of hot steel players in Nashville but, you're right, you don't hear them too much on the current country charts. Oddly enough, bands/singers that actually play real country music are pretty much considered novelty acts these days. I guess it's up to you to continue to write/sing real country tunes Thanks again! JD1813: I just caught myself reaching for a cold beer when I suddenly remembered I was at work.....! ha! Drinking at work is not only encouraged but, at a lot of jobs I've had, absolutely necessary I'm not a lyricist or singer so I can't help with the vocal suggestions but I sure do appreciate your taking the time to listen and leave a comment. Thanks for the kind words.
