I'd have to go with Izotope Alloy, it was my first really nice plugin long ago and I learned a lot on it. I still use it but also supplement with Nectar.

I simply cannot answer that question because my favorite non-CW plugins serve such different purposes.  But I can tell you the three that I probably use the most:
- Melodyne 4
- MJUC compressor  (tracks and master)
- Ozone 5 (master)

I'm also assuming you meant FX only, 'cause instruments are a whole other ballgame...

so,
when you guys say 'ozone',
isn't that a suite of plugs?

i'm looking for a single plug...
such as 'maximizer', or 'dynamic eq',
that kind of thing.

Two way tie for "m"astering:
Ozone7/Slate FG-X because neither is perfect for EVERYTHING.

Heads above all else for my bass tracks: UAD Helios.

Best all around Reverb is a four way tie:
UAD EMT 140
LXP-480 Complete
PSP 2445
QL Spaces

Everything else I own from UAD/Waves/Slate are in a firm 2nd place.

Ozone is both.  It can be used Standalone, or as a plugin,
and each of it's modules can be used as individual plugins
in Advanced....

Yes, Ozone Advanced is actually 21 (!) separate plugins.

I'll still cite "Ozone" as my one favorite plugin, though. It is just one item on the plugin menu.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

Interesting....Glyn, how else do you use A4 (besides as an amp sim)?

Since I chose Izotope, I will state that I have Izotope products for the presets. Get me in the ball park and I can fine tune. Give me a window of knobs to twist without a preset, and I am clueless.

EDIT vote:

Jamstix 3

Pretty much any other plug in there is a legitimate alternative.  I'm not aware of anything on the PC side that does what Jamstix can do.

Nothing too out of the ordinary. I usually have a few amp sims in a project and mostly its Amplitube. as I am using Pro Channel for most of the EQ and dynamics etc. It's my most used non Sonar plugin and the one I would most hate to loose.

I use Melda effects plugins a lot but could nopt narrow it down to one.

Most used paid for - Ozone 5 Advanced, specifically Insight (breaking them all apart).

Most used freebie - SPAN.

ASUS ROG Maximus X Hero (Wi-Fi AC), i7-8700k, 16GB RAM, GTX-1070Ti, Win 10 Pro, Saffire PRO 24 DSP, A-300 PRO, plus numerous gadgets and gizmos that make or manipulate sound in some way.

Could not possibly name just one.  But in terms of what I use over and over and over: Nomad Factory Pulsetec EQ, IKM 670 compressor emulation, Melda's MStereoSpread, FabFilter Pro Q 2.  There are probably a few others, but those are on the list for sure.

The most consistently used for me is EZ Drummer, followed by Amplitube and Guitar Rig ... but you're prolly asking about audio processing.

I'll go with the T-RackS Deluxe suite even though it's more than a single plug.

From within T-Racks, the Linear Phase EQ and the metering plugs.
