FBB, My Screens Sets are breaking regularly now. Don't know what's up. I suspect a plugin called Rough Rider but cant confirm. I know you are a big fan, have you had them flake on you?

Not yet apart from known issues such as floating windows not maximised when going back to a set or softsynths and effects jumping out of the multidock. Only other problems I've had tend to be user incompetence. such as wondering why changes to locked sets aren't sticking.

I have found a couple of strange issues with some other aspects of the program though that seem to be (old) project specific.

When you say breaking what do you mean?

They definitely need a bit of TLC and a save/load system for individual sets. Fingers crossed for updates...

Breaking is pretty generic but what I mean is I'll press number 3 for my locked, full screen console view (use it in every project) and I get a small console on the bottom and a large track view on top. Same with SS 4. It;s locked but gives me something different than the locked version always did. And so on. TV seems to never change but th others, after weeks with them just got all jiggy on me.

Got ya'. No I can't say I've seen anything like that yet. I'll let you know if that starts happening though.

Maybe the rough rider plugin is interfering in some way? Is it all projects or only ones with that plug in it? Seems strange that a plug would make a difference but who knows where software is concerned. Who'd have though a floppy disk would slow down a screen redraw?!?

Another thought, do you have a shortcut set up for lock/unlock? Perhaps the set is getting unlocked and relocked inadvertently. I've managed that a couple of times.

Thanks FBB,

The Rough Rider comp does behave a little differently and disables the space bar transport, won't dock, and somehow overrides the audio of an adjacent track. Don't ask but when it kicks in the other channel softens like it was side chained.

I just got the plugin for fun and I really like the sound but if I can confirm it's the culprit then of course it's gone.

The nice thing about SS is that if you understand them it's not that big a deal to get them it's just disrupting.

Well I tried the Rough Rider plugin on a super simple track of drums and could not get Screen Sets to misbehave. I put that plugin everywhere and even though it's not consistent in its behavior it doesn't absolutely wreck Screen Sets.

I was pushing the numbers for SS as fast as i could and they just switched perfectly. Oh well nothing I can duplicate apparently. I'll just push on.
