I'm re-buying Black Velvet and Indie and then plan to upgrade with the Fairfax. It sounds very sweet to me...plus I like the sound city movie!

Why re-buy? Aren't all these ADpaks going to be upgraded in AD2?

Clint had sold his Adpaks a while ago if I remember correctly...
So the ones he wants to use with 2 he's re-buyin I assume...

Yep, cclarry has it right. I'm doing some trading over at KVR to get back what I want (shouldn't have ever got rid of them). It will cost very little that way.

I agree Mesh. I wish we had a forum for that here. Cakewalk could even ban the sell of other daws if they want, but at least allow the sell of plugins and samplers. I've bought and sold a lot at KVR and have never had a problem...so far.

I contacted PM'd Ryan about 1-2 weeks ago asking about doing this, but no reply. I haven't sold a lot on KVR, but have found some excellent bargains over the years. The good thing about having a Classified section here is that the majority of software up for sale will (should) be Sonar compatible.
Maybe for the time being, we could start a thread (without giving any details) that just states: "I have some gear, PM me"??

Even if I don't use Sonar, I'd be much more comfortable buying/selling from people here than on KVR. I'd find it easier to find buyers and sellers I can trust.

So which step made it availible? I clearly just stumbled into it.

Go to register my product in the installer...
It will have a white section in the upper right hand corner with "Fairfax Demo"

Select that and then re-run the installer.

Do you mean this page. I can't see the whit area. I tried re-registering, but it said I had already done this. I've run the update installer a few time too.

Scoot, for me it didn't show up until I registered the Vintage Dry Adpak, so I don't know
if that had anything to do with it....

If anyone wants ADpaks now is the time to buy...they are $39 at JRRShop and are going up to $79.99
after the 13th release of AD2....so even at the "buy one get one free" it will still be about the same price...

Fair, maybe they are only available to those who have exspanded with the Adpaks.
ADpacks are only 49.99 on XLN site, so looks like a revision of the pricing. They do not appear to be a special offer, but a standard one

That's correct...they are currently normally $59.99 at XLN...
and $49.99 at JRRShop...but you get an "In Cart" discount making them $39.20...

http://www.jrrshop.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=ADpaks&order=relevance&dir=desc

On May 13th the ADPak price is going up to $79.99....so you've got a week to get the $39.20 price...

If you get an ADPak at at the $49.99 price will you get the AD2 pak when it is available or do you need to buy the $79 ADPak to get the AD2 pak?  I am a bit confused on how to upgrade to AD2 seeing how the engine is built into the ADPak.

If I understand this correctly, when you upgrade to AD2 the ADpaks you already own will be updated to AD2
format.  Any that you don't own at that time, or any new ADpaks will cost you the new $79.99 price...

cclarry and Mesh, I am still confused. I don't see any upgrade to AD2 from AD1 on any software site or even XLN website, even though at www.addictivedrums2.com it mentions a $79 upgrade price.

What I do see is the following (see for example http://www.jrrshop.com/xln-audio-addictive-drums-2-studio-pop):

Important note about the Addictive Drums 2 engine:
The Addictive Drums 2 engine is included with every Addictive Drums 2 ADpak and Bundle we sell.  In other words, this product does not require any other software to work and can be used by itself (in Standalone mode) or as a plugin within host music software.

For new users, that means this product is an entry-point into the world of Addictive Drums 2.  For existing Addictive Drums 2 users, this product is an expansion to their collection of extraordinary drum sounds.

The way I interpret this is that when you buy any (currently) $79 ADPak with this "Important note" you are getting AD2 along with the ADPak.  I cannot find just an AD1-to-AD2 upgrade product.

Am I missing something?

Well I already have the AD2 Engine...with the Fairfax Demo...

Not quite sure how this will shake out...they're being pretty closed mouth about it...
I was under the impression that whatever ADpaks you own will be updated to 2 format...
So, who knows...we'll find out a week from today!

EDIT:  If they ARE giving the Engine with every ADpak, and raising the price to $79.99 per ADpak
I'd say that's really good for us.  If AD1 owners only have to pay $79 to get all the ADpaks updated
that's still a good deal...either way it shakes out...
