Lynn, I'm missing something here. Can you give me a path to it from the track itself?

TWarp Lynn, I'm missing something here. Can you give me a path to it from the track itself? Select your track, and press the letter I. The inspector will open up with the track dialogue box at the top of the inspector. Good luck. If this doesn't help check the answers in your other thread.

I can't help but wonder if some the things that were, "removed" were performance hogs.

Okay. Originally the Button Bindings for control surface assignments had Undo/Redo which was absolutely essential when recording midi and audio clips. In every version of Sonar I was able to undo and redo with my Studio Mix controller at the press of a button on my contol surface. Undo/Redo are there in 8.5.3 and every version prior to X1 but now there are a whole lot of other bindings for the control surface but no Undo/Redo! I want those binding BACK! Trying to re-install it from Program Files / Cakewalk 8 or Lower seems useless.. Sonar XML.Documents are not present in any of those files. Can anybody help me get back Undo/Redo back into the ACT control surface menu????? I have just installed X1 and gotten up and running with it, so that's why the late post to this thread. I haven't worked with it extensively yet, but so far, I really like the new interface and the workflow. One little thing that is bothering me, though, that Cake left out - and a few have already mentioned it - is only 1 or 2 sends displaying in the console view. I had 4 displayed in 8.5.3 and came to depend on it. Now, with only two showing in X1, I'm thrown off. I think it may have been B San who asked in an earlier post in this thread, "any way to display more than 2 sends?" That is my question as well, anyone? Thank you, Todd

The CV needs some work. But you can see more then 2 sends in the track header if you insert them there. The CV seems to only show only 2 at a time.CW has said it is working on some problems with the CV. I don't know if this issue is one of the things they are working on.

1. So, is 8.5.3 the last good version? By that I mean, are the changeovers in X1 and X2 a huge bunch of cosmetics which bother long time users like me? 2. Some DAWs, such as Logic Pro, have an envelope pane in which one can draw envelopes that will affect all tracks at the same time. When will Sonar have such an exceptionally useful tool? In stead of drawing envelopes separately for each track, one could save bundles of time by drawing just general envelopes for all tracks. For ex., strings in pop arrangements swell and ebb at the same time. Why would I have to draw (maybe copy) all those envelopes separately? This would go for all of the available envelopes and maybe even effects. S.

I saved his work, he was a great guy, a great help here too. to syliva, juststay at 8.5.3. but when someone comes over your studio and looks up on your monior and see's you running a version of sonar years old, don't say I didn't tell you this doest look professional. not to mention x2 was made to better the user experience as was x1. if you find a special setting an older version that's not there anymore, well this is common. windows 8 pulled my start button but im not going to go back to xp.

It is in the Track Inspector. If you mean they removed it from the track header that would be true but as stated it was not removed from the track view only moved from the track header to the track inspector.

joetabby Sorry, I guess I forgot the point of these games. As someone who is not aware of "these games", what were the rules? John asked, in an old thread, what was "Missing from Sonar X.." that was in previous versions. "Missing", that is, not just "In a different place." So what is your/ there point?

Here's one: Saving a file. The little "save" icon on the toolbar is no longer present in X1 or X2. To save, you have to go to the file menu and choose "save file". One extra keystroke that adds up over the course of a 3 hour session.

Or you could simply hit ctrl + s, which is a lot quicker than locating the save button with the mouse and hitting it. In.My.Opinion. Or if that is still too slow, you can easily set up a single stroke keybinding to invoke a Save.

so do I, he was the first one to respond when I needed help, he taught me about importing wav files at their own timestamp and till today when someone says why are my files being dropped 50 bars down the timeline, I think of him and respond to them accordingly. this is proof he did make a difference, we all do, we all help each other, share ideas, look out for one another. this is why it makes me so sa to see when people cut each other up on here sometimes, including myself, ive been guilty of it, but to realize and make a change, that's the beauty of being human, the choice to be a better person or stay the same. somehow I think billy still has the cakewalk forum bookmarked. I can agree with you if you were to say "I wish the control bar had a few more options like";different custom modules,re-size. things like that. but you cant let that save button be the reason your work is being hindered ? I don't care how many times you add up that key stroke, its not going to add more than 2 minutes tops when saving 20 times. go back to the drawing board man :) lol re-group and try again, this is going to be a tough one because sonar was improved not un-improved. best of luck (I mean that) technology changes my friend, don't be left behind over a little button :) best, Charlie
