John T I hate to break this to you, but you are a blue collar worker in the music industry. Whether or not you progress beyond that is on open question of course. But it might be an idea, if you don't want your co-workers to think you're a complete tool, to not look down on people who are doing exactly the same job as you. You are a horrid golem like creatrue, I'll show u, I was being honest at where we sit on the food chain and yes unfortunatly foy you unless you have degrees you are not part of the academic class. T1 if you have degrees thwn welcomem If you don't get that this is the world works, then it is not my fault. Plebs=working class-blue collar workers Protoliterate=Middle Clasess-white collar workers Academic Clasess=educated Ruling clasess=those in power. And this is how the structrue works!! Sorry for all the plebs!!

Wow, just wow! As for knowing what it's like to have ones body failing them - I've had a life threatening blood disorder since age 22, two Bone Marrow Transplants over the past 8 years (for the blood disorder becoming an acute form of Leukemia) and now scleroderma as a byproduct of GVHD (Graft vs. Host Disease) now that I've made it to the age of 44. None of these medical maladies make me any more right or wrong. Nor would I expect any different treatment from others due to my personal issues. Whats the point? I'm not trying to be insulting or anything else, I'm just asking - how does this have any impact on the truths of current digital audio technology? I know I'm crazy for telling so much about myself, but I'm comfortable with my situation. I'm sure this thread will eventually be locked and/or (hopefully moved to where it belongs), but really.

You John T and some of you act as ruiling powers on this forum, no more. Your not as smart as me and so I will take you down a notch or two. I still see no credititals or what you have done, I can provide links, all I see is a buch of trying nobodies on a forum. Come after me and I will eat you, I am a battle hardened dwarf. You wont win, when you provide proof that you aren't a bunch of lonely homosexuals looking for attention you will get no respect from me. I have put my apology into Cake for this thread, they can do what they think is appropriate as to banning me, whatever, I can do more for this comapany than any of you want to be's I am in a city that has four music stores on one street and I still believe this is the best DAW on the market. ESP after hearing the ABC test of the LA2, I have wasted a 1000$ on UAD when their LA2 is as good. I'm not climbling up Cakes arse either, they can do what they want in terms of punishment. None of this directeded at FBB the biggest FanBoi on this forum, we started out as not friends, I get why he is happy now. Ok I'm out of here we will see in the morning if I'm banned. Love Ben

Ben, please note I don't see the original point being to drag this down to a you versus us mentality - it was about the current state of Digital Recording and what current knowledge tells us about it capabilities. Any other stuff that started I've tried to stay clear off. I'm unsure what our medical histories have to do with credentials, I'm unsure why credentials automatically should instill confidence in any resource for anybody. I think one has to do their own research, see if information has changed over time, see if other possibilities exist. I suspect if no one goes personal, keeps to the topic of Sonar/Recording/Audio Technology (even with some humor tossed in or light commentary) that no one will get banned. But when it degrades to a level of insults it's probably time to walk away from a thread. This goes for all that fall down that path. Hopefully we all are here because we love using Sonar - despite our differences, we at least share that. Sleep well Ben, perhaps tomorrow will be better (I know I feel better today than I did yesterday), but each day brings it's own challenges.

It's been hinted at multiple times now, but it's kind of bugging me so I'll go ahead and write it out loud.. Ben, I don't believe there is such thing as an "analog" camera, around these parts it's commonly referred to as "optical". Just sayin'...

I can record at -15 db and in 24/44 and it is magic I tell you. Magic! No clipping, all just yummy, low noise audio! If you dont have to crank the preamp higher, you avoid more background noise if there is any around. In 24 bit recording, you can record at much lower signal and get great results. Avoiding backround noise via blasting the preamp is a very valuable thing, much more valuable than trying to get into -6db territory for the sake of a better sound, which I have never witnessed. I started out trying to record hot as possible until I realized not only did it not sound better than the lower signals, but it was harder to avoid clipping and introduced more background noise at times.
