The fact that they will likely be unavailable in Sonar X5 or 6 (in the way that several effects have gone missing in X3) is just another blight upon them.

Has anything been said about what happens to projects using these plugins once you move to X4 ?

Will the tether be inherited ?

If the history of third party plug-ins bundled with SONAR is any indication, it will not be a problem. All previously bundled third party plug-ins still work in X3. Of course older 32bit DX plug-ins do not work in 64bit SONAR.

All of the included plugins from the past still work so that statement is somewhat of a distortion.  They simply do not install with the new version.  No company bundles third party software they currently are not licensed to distribute.  It would be illegal.  The software did not go missing.  It's right wherever you left it and you are free to use it

I don't recall any plugins ever being tethered to a specific version of SONAR.
