Audition Loops at Project Tempo feature broken in X1B

I saw this mentioned in another thread yesterday and was able to confirm it myself last night. It appears that the X1B update broke the 'Loop At Project Tempo' feature for auditioning non-acidized loops in the Loop Explorer.

Of course, this was one of my favorite features added to X1.

Looks like I'll be filing a problem report soon.

Yes, for me its also broken. I cant play any wave loops at the project tempo from the media browser...

I hope they get it right soon with another patch!

I wonder if holding down Alt in X1 will do anything?

Im lost for words with Cakewalk.  X1 has and will lose alot of new and old users .. Im at the point with WTF CW .. You had 3 months , no one tested the media Player.. THats pathetic., Its a major feature .. more so than half the other problems . Oh Well,

6 months away from there annual upgrade to X2, And X1 still has issues that shouldn't be.

I wonder, why cakewalk dont release public beta updates? This way there will be more people testing it.

I think they could solve so many problems with more beta testers!

Think about it.  They released a product and got paid for it.  The entire user base is now giving feedback and we're at X1B.    That isn't a public beta test?

What about auditioning MIDI loops at the host's tempo from within the Browser? Was that supposed to be fixed too, or am I the only one with that problem?

I haven't tried.  I generally don't use MIDI loops anyway (I create my own).

I understand. Many people do (myself included). But would you mind trying? I know you know your stuff, and if it doesn't work for you, at least I know I'm not the only one.

And if it still doesn't work, I guess a lot more people will be creating their own MIDI loops, since they won't be able to audition third-party ones easily.

I was livid when I read this...I immediately checked my notebook I brought to work with me and sure enough, the audition failed to track with the tempo.

I just did a "system restore" to prior X1b and that fixed the problem.

Just checked and the auditions track with tempo change.

Unbelievable the QC guys didn't catch this....

Funny thing is, when I installed X1b, I got an error message stating the program couldn't be found.  Turned out, I'd been running X1 for the last few months.  So I installed X1a, then X1b installed.

Right now, I'm back to X1.  And the audition sample tracks with the tempo.  I don't know if X1a effected this issue.

This problem was actually introduced in the X1B update. It worked fine in prior versions of X1.

Yes, I have it checked but the setting seems to be ignored. The problem actually only occurs with non-Acidized (regular) wave files. Acidized and REX files still appear to loop with the project tempo. Are you sure that the loops that you are testing aren't Acidized wave files?
You can tell Acidized loops because those will show the original tempo and key at the bottom of the Browser window.

Interesting, eB.   I opened a folder containing a bunch of acidized wav files (from a library I've seen a few times and know they are ok), simply hit play in the project I had open at 125BPM, started clicking on the wavs to audition (and WITH ALL THE PROPER SETTINGS CHECKED).   The wavs were at 128BPM.

    Nothing lined up/played together.

So I changed BPM in Sonar to 130 and did the same, resulting in out of sync as above.

These are things that I do often so it's obvious to me something is broken in X1B in this area as you pointed out.

It's actually very easy to repro.

These are things that I do often so it's obvious to me something is broken in X1B in this area as you pointed out.

It's actually very easy to repro.

Billy, You may want to file your own problem report, since it sounds like you're seeing somewhat different behavior than I am.

These are things that I do often so it's obvious to me something is broken in X1B in this area as you pointed out.

eB, yes, I should.   I just need to finish up a project before I have that 'extra' time to be dick tracey for CW ;)

It does appear others are seeing similar results for both situations, however.

The problem actually only occurs with non-Acidized (regular) wave files. Acidized and REX files still appear to loop with the project tempo.

Same here ...... Hopefully this will get fixed ASAP :-)
