I contacted CCS on November 29th 2015. I sent further e-mails and web forms, but have heard nothing since. I'm unable to 'phone the US due to time difference, cost, and for medical reasons being unable to use the 'phone. So, no point in recommending making contact with CCS in my experience. Or giving them even more money.

You mean like taking a response to another post and use it as a springboard for my personal rant? I'll keep that in mind. Thanks for the suggestion.

You may be frustrated but the guy you are replying to has helped hundreds (if not thousands) of users with his almost encyclopedic knowledge of the program. Send Cake another email or PM one of the Bakers here if you can't give them a call. They'll get you sorted.

The above does make a point with something that has bothered me as well. There are many apps now that allow for free wi-fi calls all over the world which would highly benefit customers. The only real issue at that point would be the allocated time slot that is open (would have to throw that one onto the customer); but the "landline" mentality is becoming dated at an accelerated rate.
ASUS ROG Maximus X Hero (Wi-Fi AC), i7-8700k, 16GB RAM, GTX-1070Ti, Win 10 Pro, Saffire PRO 24 DSP, A-300 PRO, plus numerous gadgets and gizmos that make or manipulate sound in some way.

I haven't been on the forums in a while, but found out about the $99 membership renewal on an alert from the Command Center app. I must say it was a most welcomed surprise! I appreciate very much how well Cakewalk has taken care of it's user base, and why I keep coming back! Cheers!

One thing I note about the slated updates is that aside from the Mastering FX improvements, they are all applicable to every tier of SONAR. They don't provide any additional inspiration for new users to purchase Platinum, or for existing users to upgrade. It's nice to see updates that will help the broad base of users, but thought I would point this out.

Yeah, I am not sure I agree. The new changes will make SONAR more user friendly. This notion that somehow we need to make things overly complicated for Pros is not true from Pros I talk to on a regular basis. Time is money so if we can make it easier to get projects started, improve the browsing experience, and address core fixes, we'll be making life easier. So again, I think all users will see a benefit in their every day use.

I think I was addressing the issue of existing SONAR Platinum users upgrading. If you love the feature set of Platinum or X3 Producer or even need many of the Platinum features, the new stuff is certainly going to be welcome in terms of workflow.

In my line of work (helping farmers understand and use seasonal climate forecasts), there is the idea of "simplicity on the far side of complexity". I see SONAR heading that way already and striving to go further. I wish you every success. Cheers, Peter.

for all of these ease of use enhancements...is there any chance 2016 will finally fix "move checked devices to top" not working for MIDI input devices?.. and also add this for audio input and output devices?.. feature requested for 5 years and counting.. and its a pita to scroll through 3 pages every time to see what exactly is connected!

The great the upcoming features look, my renewel clearly depends on how much they fix core functions not working right now that did in older versions. For instance transient detection and copying of grouped clips.

Is the Rolling Updates page eventually going to return to a format that shows the expected changes/content for the next immediately pending update, or is it now going to stay as a "pool" of potential update items for the season? I did like to be able to see exactly what was in the pipeline for the next update, so am just curious.

Hi, the email is correct that the last date is Feb 28'th. It was incorrectly posted as March earlier. The store takes a little while to update which is why its still showing the wrong date. Sorry for the confusion.

Then you might want to update your website on the page Add Another Year of Rolling Updates to SONAR Offer Ends March 31st! and ($99 Special ends March 31st)

From https://www.cakewalk.com/Products/SONAR/Renew Offer Ends March 31st! Add one year of Rolling Updates to SONAR Platinum which includes new features, enhancements, content, and fixes. Offer good for current one-time SONAR Platinum customers*$99 (reg. $149) ($99 Special ends March 31st) Add 1 YR. of Rolling Updates This has to be the date honored in the USA, as it is considered false advertising to do otherwise. They really have no choice in the matter. It is a federal law. However, also notice the bold print. That email may have been intended for those not qualifying as current one-time Sonar Platinum customers. Offer page is archived at the Internet Wayback Machine. Terry

Well... not gonna sob story ya'll on this because it's likely not going to matter for me anyway BUT... Due to the March 31st announcement I figured I MAY just be able to eke it out by then depending on how finances went over the months following the announcement. It's definitely an excellent deal and for my plans, tests and experiments it's probably best to stay current. However I can get things done as is and I'd only really be staying current to test and learn about the new stuff (yanno... so I can do annoying things like try to help others, lol). For my own work the current package is obviously more than useable so waiting a while for the next deal is not going to be particularly injurous. My point is I'm guessing there might be quite a few people out there who, like me, thought they had some extra time to take advantage of the deal and were budgeting for next month. Changing the date (or correcting such a marketing error) a couple weeks before the new cut off after a month of advertising could put some folks in a bind. Thing is I'm so freaking lame and pathetic the extra time may not have made a difference for me anyway but it might have. Dunno. Some of the real humans out there though might simply not have planned for the extra $50 or won't see this info in time to pounce then get turned off at the change. That said... I actually thought keeping the pricing at $99 until March was kind of extraordinarily generous... like to the point of it almost being weird and undervalueing the product. I would have thought Feb 28 was a much more reasonable time frame for such a deal/promo. Changing it after about a month of promo, even if it was initially an error, is kind of problematic for some folks. Again... I'll be fine. Not upset really. Just thinking this could be a not so great thing for many who got their hopes up and planned around the orginal end date. Cheers and good luck either way. PS: Please don't flame me, bros. Just pointing out how this might be not so good for some users and in turn sales/Cakewalk.

Does Cakewalk have any plans to add a mixer to their DAW? For us old analog folks, that would make us feel right a home. I don't have room for a real analog mixer in my studio, therefore, having one incorporated in Sonar will be nice.

I have already updated. How could I not? First I'm looking forward to the new features coming down the pike and I think a host sorta has to. It also seems CW has ironed out some or all the wrinkles in CCC. It tends to work better and easier. I'm doing a full clean install and I had no idea just how much stuff CW has for me to install. Let me just say its a lot! I wont lie and say this is fun.
