And to use it outside of Pro Channel if desired. As a VST (3) it could get additional use.

Hi- Yes, you can use it in any VST and AU compatible DAW. Also, we have added sidechaining and you can also create FX chains using the CA-2A. For those that have been using the PC2A, it offers a little more flexibility at a very discounted price. For those that haven't, you can now have a VST/AU and ProChannel version of a really amazing compressor. It's a tremendous value at $99.

I got it to go through. However, a little strange it didn't show that it was an exe file. So, I had to rename it and then execute the download file. I tested this plug in and the side chaining works.

Thanks for verifying Andrew. The reason I asked is because I use X2 as my main DAW for audio. But I also use Sony Vegas Pro for video editing and hoped it would just be another tool I could use in both products...! Awesome... :) Already have it downloaded now. Great deal from CW again.

Why did they give this a new name?? OK, they did say it was an "upgrade", but why change the name? It made me think I was getting something completely revamped. I mean, how hard is it to take software and throw a VST shell around it and add sidechaining? I have to say I feel a little duped. Not majorly, but just a little.

They sell it in Reason format as CA-2A also, PC-2A kind of intimated 'ProChannel' because of the PC, but this is a VST/AU so wouldn't have made as much sense. CA-2A makes one think 'Cakewalk' because of the CA.

If CW offered something that wont work or never was delivered than you have a complaint. Otherwise if you read the specs on it and understood what you read how on this planet can you "feel" duped? Your only argument is they changed the name. My goodness how awful! They added features and now let it be used in other DAWs but for some reason that isn't enough. What else were you looking for?

The Cakewalk Store is not accepting Credit Cards at the moment, when will it be fixed.

If you downloaded the program with internet explorer you will have to rename the download. If your download was "Cakewalk %20Limiter%20" just right click and rename the download and add .exe extention to the name. After you add the .exe extention ,You will see the white paper icon change to the cl-2a red logo and you can install it now. Danny

I actually feel a little "taken" by CW's marketing strategy at the moment. In December they give away a $20- voucher, with very little on offer in the store. A week or two after expiry, they release a plugin for - tadaaa - $20. Guys, if you are going to "give" your users a voucher, why let it expire? I know many of the guys on this forum will disagree, or be "oh well, that's business", but I get the idea CW's marketing team do this stuff on purpose, with a s**** and a chuckle. Is it just me who feels this way? Ludwig
