CA-2A upgrade

So the new release... the upgrade from PC2A..
Is the only difference between the PC2A and this new one that the CA-2A can alse be VST as well as ProChannel?
It seemed to read that way but not sure.

I keep trying to buy it but it says error in the checkout. I can't manager it. If I can't navigate the website, maybe I'm not worthy of the plug?

I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.

I'm getting the same error message.

There is something kooky about the Cakewalk Store and Forum- they need an overhaul.

I notice it comes in VST 3 flavour.

I wonder if that's an omen for X3?

it would be nice to be able to save and load presets in the PC-module, like you can in the VST-version

    otherwise; nice update :)

Results? Does it sound much different from the older version? How about sharp transients: the old plug had some trouble with that sometimes.

I believe a real vintage hardware LA2A will have problems with sharp transients (depends on what you mean by "problems"). It's not a fast comp.

This install does a few strange things.
Even though my registry is set like this:

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software\VSTPlugins]

    "InstallDirectory"="G:\\VST-64\\Cakewalk"

the install does not ask for a location, instead it just creates a new one at:

    C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\VstPlugins\

That is for the 64-bit install, the 32-bit goes in the x86 Program files folder.

Before I registered it, I moved the 32-bit and 64-bit plug-ins to my 32-bit and 64-bit plug-in folder manually and then registered it in Live 8 (32-bit) and Live 9 (64-bit) before running it in Sonar.

It also renames your older files to:

    PC2ALevelingAmplifier_64.old

It started with ProChannel version, then Rack Extension (for Reason), and now VST.

Wanna bet the next version will be i(OS)-2A?

Ooh, thanks for this.  I saw the big 20% NAMM off orders of $149 or more, so thought that's where the savings ended.

Guess I should always read the fine print on these announcements!

BTW, just for the sake of clarity, the upgrade is $20 total (not $20 off).  A definite no-brainer for those who have the Prochannel!

Might want to check your account at Cakewalk.

So basically, previous owners are paying $20 for the ability to sidechain? Doesn't really seem like something you should have to pay for. Other than that, there really seems to be no mention of anything new or improved about this version.
