Toddskins The big question is, will strangers be able to get the Cakewalk by Bandlab for free, too? IF they register an account on BandLab.com, can I send them the link to get Cakewalk by BandLab for free? I'm meeting with 25+ musicians this Saturday for the sole purpose of collaborating on a new CD, but we are all strangers to one another and need a method (BandLab) to collaborate. Can they use Sonar Platinum via the download?
Yes, it is free to anyone with a BandLab account. Keep in mind while the DAW has the Platinum feature set, it does not include all the plug-ins and instruments. The main page for Cakewalk is here.

Is it possible to get Cakewalk by Bandlab to detect/use the Adaptive Limiter from my previous Platinum install? I don't see it anywhere...

Toddskins When BandLab says you can upload a project for others to work on, what file format are they referring to? Can you upload a single WAV track as well as several tracks all at once? Will others need to have Cakewalk by BandLab to be able to edit the project (if I upload a .CWB file and this is possible?), or can they use their own DAW?
This is not BandLab Cakewalk. It is the other BandLab DAW. If you wish to share Cakewalk projects, at this time it will have to happen like SONAR. IOW using bundles or zips of the project and audio files sharing them as before. I expect there will be better sharing in the future. Cakewalk bundles are proprietary and would BandLab Cakewalk or an legacy Cakewalk DAW such as SONAR to open them. IOW, nothing has change with how to collaborate with BandLab Cakewalk yet. It still works like SONAR because it is SONAR with a different name.

Well, I solved my Adaptive Limiter problem. I just had to add c:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\cakewalk\x64\vst3\Adaptive Limiter\ To CbB!

I guess you have commercial plans for L-Phase EQ and MB, Adaptive Limiter, Dimension, Rapture, Zeta+, etc... Please don't tell us they are discontinued.

This version really seems to be running faster and less likely to crash than my previous Steam Platinum edition!!! Now I've added the directories for the plugins and synths, I'm so happy~!!!
Thank you Bandlab and Meng!

I got this too - I think it's referring to an update to the BandLab Assistant rather than CbB. M.

Yes, I clicked to install it. It opened Bandlab Assistant but I couldn't see anything to update. Under the Apps tab it said "up to date".

I upgraded from Sonar Professional and opened a few existing projects and all played flawlessly. I then proceeded to master within a mix and when it came time to export to 16bit wav, I noticed there was no Pow-r Dithering. Oh well, I hope it can be a paid add-on sometime in the future.

Paid for lifetime updates for SPLAT and super happy with the install so far. Thanks Meng!!! Wouldn't be surprised to see Cakewalk become the most used daw in the world very soon. This is going to be a Protools and Cubase killer and studios around the world are going to have to adopt it or be left behind. Very clever strategy Meng.

I noticed after a reboot that Bandlab Assistant opens and stays on the screen until I close it. I also noticed that there are 3 Bandlab Assistant processes running in Task Manager along with an entry under the Startup Tab named Update (Publisher Github Status Enabled). I disabled that Startup entry, rebooted, and now the 3 processes are all gone and BA doesn't startup after a reboot. Anyone else experience this and could we get an explanation of what that's for and whether it's needed?

I agree that Meng and Noel may be on to a real game changer. It will take a flex/flo strategy with ability to handle postmodern ideologies in an integral age....I digress, I wish them much success in their business model and I am happy to help in any way I can to support software that enables humans to explore their creative potential. I’m all in on this business plan if BandLab can monetize the cakewalk community and have a reasonable response to SoundCloud. I am very interested in supporting this product, company, and ideology.

Yes, it is possible to shut BA down for the session by clicking the gear in the BA UI and quitting from there. Here is a related thread.

Guys I'm still scanning plugins because I have a very large collection that I have achieved in the long years of 5500 plugins. It's not being complicated because I actually installed now little, half of the plugins have already been found successfully. What I realized from this version is that the plugins search faster, it is much faster to open the software itself taking into account that I do not have SSD. The screen passes are smoother and faster, it seems more fluid. Remember the version 23.10 but much more fast and fast. I'm enjoying the experience. By how much no plugin was left out. The mistakes that have appeared are in fact some of the mess I have in folders, everything is scanning as it has to be.

Of plugins do not claim the sonar here always read 3 times more plugins than all the other daws I have here. This Daw is impressive, very excited about this update. I did not bother to delete the name SONAR. Although we do not know if they will actually ban the name. It would be very interesting to leave the name CAKEWALK in evidence as they did here. The strategy is brilliant is straightforward.

At first glance, everyone should rejoice. But let's look carefully. 1. The new program in fact breaks compatibility with previous versions. 2. There is a legal problem that I immediately see. The company is reasonably accused of dumping and unfair competition and, as a consequence, will go bankrupt. 3. If you do not even go bankrupt, there will be no normally working support. Hence the question: which young child took this decision?

Do not panic, I had the same problem and I thought it had to do with the account that I use does not have to be bought, only the studio. In fact you should just make your account at https://www.bandlab.com/products/cakewalk/rewards and confirm by email there then you will have your Platinum free

I had a small problem that I just discovered. I live in Italy, and my windows installation is in italian - ok. I always liked to have Cakewalk products in English, and so my SPLAT was installed in English - OK (during the installation process I had the opportunity to choose the installation language, and so my SPLAT became in English language. Now, the new Bandlab Cakewalk installation IS in English and that's ok,... (I did't had any way of choosing, but that's ok for me...). --- BUT --- my previous SPLAT is now in Italian!!!!!! ????? 1: why is this happening? 2: how can I set the language back in English of my SPLAT installation? Thank you. Giorgio
