jamesg1213 I can work on a track "for weeks... Which is how long that banjo took. I sympathize..the fiddle parts I did on 'When the Devil Gives Up' and 'Buried With Time' took days, and even though the lines repeated, I didn't copy/paste because it took away from the feel. It's worth all the work if you want that sound bad enough When the Devil Gives up, one of my favorite forum songs... Weeks on a track :-) It's a sickness, but when we look back on it, we're glad we put in the time.

Not bad but I would lose the melodyne fake/act real stuff. You sound like a former eagles singer wanna be type of singer. keep on trying, be honest next time!

Audio Maker, This forum is designed for to help people improve in a nice way, not in the harsh tone that you are taking here. You might want to take more care and consideration when typing your feedback. I am anxious to hear your wonderfully produced, honest music with non-Eagle-like wannabe vocals. Come on, don't be shy!

Yeah I don't really edit things much with melodyne, I typically comp and do multiple takes to get it how I want, I find melodyne comes in handy on the Fretless bass sometimes to help adjust if one is a little off. I could post some links to some old versions of the person who used to call himself Bobby and then said we were stupid for believing that was his real name? I will call him Betty, "evil Betty..." I have some links to some vocal performances by Evil Betty that he would probably rather not have heard by the general public... And I mean, I'm pretty sure if I put them on youtube? They would go viral! LOL! My dream is one day to be a singer like him... Maybe one day? If I really work at it? I can achieve his mad skills? A boy can dream...

Robby, Why did you use fake vocals and fake fiddles and fake guitars and fake everything else in this? I am shocked! You faked us all out! I was certain that it was real. Damn you!

lhansen Wow! Fiery playing all around!! That bass really stood out for me in a good way..great sound on it, along with the chops. Kudos Robby & Scotty! I've really grown in appreciation for the country bluegrass music over the years, so this was a treat to hear. You nailed this one Robby! Thanks Larry, we thank you and appreciate your love of the grass :-)

jamesyoyo The performances on this are awesome. I think a pass through a LA2A or 1176 would do these vocals proud. You can download a 10-day trial version from IK Multimedia and slap it on them. Thanks James, I have a lot of VSTs at work already :-) I can't afford any more anytime soon. I'm using and liking some products by fabfilter right now. fabfilter pro L, C, and Q. Good stuff, I recommend it :-)

philz Whoa... where do I start with comments here... it was that kinda' great! I've been meaning to catch this one for days, and finally got there this morning. Well worth the wait to hear two of my favorite players at their best. Robby, that banjo had me going for a good part of the tune. Great job on everything guys. I'll be back for seconds and maybe even thirds on this one. Thanks Phil :-) That banjo was the midi track from hell... I appreciate the fact that you listened, and commented. I was very lucky to be able to work with Mr. Campbell on this.

Thanks Philz! Yeah the original Eagles version absolutely had that banjo featured prominently. My version has a couple of things there's did not, I have a mandolin, and keyboards, and a fiddle :-) It's been a pig for me to mix but I think I may have just put a prett good version up; My "Second Final Master." Hopefully the final master. Pretty sure I'm done with it either way. Going to spending the weekend and next week with the boy so probably not much music for me, I'll be having a blast with him though!

Vicente vechung The mix has this live and vintage feel. Now you need some live crowd noise and clapping too. Great job! Thanks Vicente, I have a friend who's a wine maker? Everything he does has a vintage feel :-) I like the idea of a live vibe with a crowd? I've done that once before. Maybe final mix #3? :-) I'll probably touch it one more time anyway. I think I'm going to bring Scotty back up a bit, brighten him a bit, and hit him with some (more) verb.

geeare1 Hi Robbie, The new mix sounds great. The dobro is a nice subtle touch. Really like those low notes on the Chandler. :-) I'm pretty sure everyone who get's good mixes (and I'm not claiming to be a member of that club yet) has a sickness about this stuff. Someone who sits "for hours" listening, tweaking, mixing down, listening again, trying different EQs, Compressors, limiters, Different presets, then tweaking those, etc... And what's invaluable is then input from others who hear things we can't I like that lap steel :-) This is actually the 1st song I've used it on!! Now my PC/DAW is rebooting a few times an hour... I'm not sure what's going on but I'm going to take it in this week. I'm trying to finish a colab w/Miss Janet. And also do one of my old originals, and I'd also like to start on a cover of one that Herb did that I really liked. Lots of projects, but it's summer and "sooooo hot..." and I can't record audio w/the HVAC on, and when it's in the mid to high 90s, you can't really turn it off? So it presents "challenges..." I swear I hate the summer.

Your modesty is nice though :-) I'm not modest? And I don't have half the talent you do! And I am one talented Mo Foe! LOL! I am never disappointed by anything you do Scotty, and I mean that sincerely. And I have high standards!? It was my high honor to have you accompany me on this project.

So many have :-( It's unfortunate that some people are controlled by Sheppard's and incapable of independent thought? (I won't name names because I don't want to use the word "Jonboy" in a sentence...) I had the best time on this one! Thanks again for listening, and for commenting. Robby, Since you don't allow responses to your pm, I will respond here... I don't have a company that sells DAWs nor work for one. I am a drummer/engineer who owns a recording studio and sound co. Have no clue where you would get the assumption that I sell DAWs... Also I don't visit that often and my time is extremely tight. I am constantly either recording and or playing and don't have time to "talk playing and recording". In so far as you commenting on my music, thank you very much. Most always I am looking for comments about the mixing, not about the playing and I think I state that in my posts. You always comment about the playing... I hope you find the DAW you are looking for. Unfortunately, I have no recommendations...I will also try to comment on more peoples music when I do visit... "A word to the wise"...What does that mean??? Your pm comes across quite arrogant... Have no clue why also... Peace!!
PS. I listened to your song.

yeah, thanks for listening, I made the mistake of thinking you were; http://www.studiocat.com/2/index.php/Home Studiocat... My mistake, sorry, the reason you couldn't respond was I had you blocked? I block lots of people :-( Typically people who I comment on who don't listen to or comment on my stuff? For instance, I listened to and commented on your music; and people who " only" post and comment on their own music? (you fell in to one of those categories?) So you were blocked. I'm looking to buy a daw, and again I thought you were "that guy?" that sells DAW's? So my point in my "Personal message" was that a forum would be a good resource for you to sell your product? But you're not that guy? (again my mistake) So, I have some good spaghetti recipes if you'd like to chat? Let me know, I unblocked you. You are a hellofa drummer... I believe drummers are born, not made. You were born a drummer, and for that, you should be proud, because you're a good one. I'm thinking about the Platinum Studio; http://www.studiocat.com/2/index.php/Platinum_Studio spaghetti recipe incoming... You should make it, it rocks...
