Thanks for the video links. I have seen the Cakewalk one before but there's no A/B demo's with it. On the other video, I didn't hear any great changes, the vocal was smooth but when he turned it off, it was still smooth. So I'm still not really sold on it. I also heard that Cakewalk offered it for sale to the first 1000 people to buy it a 50% discount.....now if they offered that again, I might consider it just to complete the collection.

Another vote on PC2A being the best of the cakewalk made PC modules. My boss is amazed at the sound on vocals in my work lately and a good chunk of that is PC2A

I can see why that video wouldn't sell it. I seem to remember the chap commenting that it looked cool, and how that's the most important thing. I've watched a few of his videos and am not always convinced he actually understands what some of the plug ins do/are for. I really love the PC2A. I've used it loads. It seems to impart a warmth to stuff. When I first got Expanded I used the softube knob a lot on tracks, just little, to impart some warmth; I've found I use it a little less now if I have the PC2A on a track. I'll often use it in series after one of the other compressors. Not had much time to use CL, but liking it so far. Just used it subtly on a drum bus and liked the result. Since installing it (v1.0.1) a strange thing has happened - my mouse pointer keeps disappearing in Sonar (It is still visible in Windows and other programs), and only reappears after re-booting computer. It's a PITA. Not sure if it's related to CL.. Any ideas, anyone?

I also installed the 1.01 versions of CL, gate and compressor, but I'm not having any mouse problems at all. With regards to the PC2A, ya it looks great, and it's a great concept of emulating a vintage piece of gear, but does it do anything ?? I have to have good bang for the buck and I'm just not hearing it. In Guitar Rig 5 I already have 3 compressors, in Pro Channel I already have two compressors....these guys can make different versions of compressors all day long, but I can't afford to buy into an endless supply of plug-ins. To be honest with you $79 bucks is a lot of money for one effect...I mean really, look how much stuff I got with Guitar Rig 5 for $99 bucks .... !!

I guess I was lucky to get PC2A for 50% when it came out, so maybe wait for another sale. It imparts a totaly different character to sounds than the other compressors. A certain analog warmth, maybe? It seems to behave differently, too. I'm sure some of the more knowledgable members could describe it better, as I realise I'm coming across as vague. It is without doubt my favorite of the PC modules (only just got CL, so not including that). I use all of them, but like the character it imparts. I fully understand not wanting any more compressors, but the PC2A is a very different beast. If it pops up in a sale, then leap for your wallet. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable and eloquent could chime in with their thoughts on the PC2A, and how it differs in practice from the others.

djwayne So why can't I demo it BEFORE I buy it ?? Why no demo's posted ?? I think that is something Cakealk needs to fix. It would be to their benefit to have a model similar to what many companies already do, include all of the modules in the install in demo mode. Asking people to spend $79 blindly is unreasonable when you can easily put the product in their hands without risking much

Last night I upgraded to Producer Expanded (for only $10) and I also purchased the Concrete Limiter, Expander/Gate, and Compressor for the ProChannel. I'm stoked!
