DLL name vs Plugin name

Hello,
 
Is there a way to get the VSTs shown under their DLL names rather than plugin names? Using automap makes the VSTs list really messy, all the automapped plugins are duplicated and you never know which one to choose. I've set VSTPluginNameFormat value to 1 and did a full rescan, but the names stay the same. Am I doing anything wrong? I see no signs of this variable in the X3 documentation by the way.
