ORIGINAL: bitflipper

Sound waves are vibrations in the air. Sound waves are generated by anything that vibrates; a vibrating object causes the air next to it to vibrate, and the vibration is passed through the air in all directions. When the vibrating air enters your ear, it makes your eardrum vibrate, and you hear a sound. Likewise, if the vibrating air hits a microphone, it causes the microphone to vibrate and send electrical signals to whatever it's connected to.

I'm still trying to figure out what mic to use to pickup the vibrations of this forum.

Any suggestions?

My monitors are stone silent.

Hey Papa2004 ...........
I posted a comment in that mysterious post that disappeared also.
I had made some comment about the picture of you with a puppy and your comments about having wonderful grandchildren.
I really thought that was the man I was talking to when I posted a few things these past few months.
But I notice a definite ANGER in almost everything that you type here - why is that man?
I think you're a pretty smart dude - you know your Sonar facts, recording facts, etc. And that is excellent!
But what you don't seem to understand is that you are starting to piss off people with your (in your face) attitude.
And that's really a shame for a smart Sonar dude.
Before you go typing another (in your face) comment - why not take a walk, look in the mirror.
Then come back and say "Guys/gals I've been sorta silly this past while."
Everyone here will forgive you for whatever reasons you have ......
This Forum needs the smarties like John, CJay & you - in the big scope of things there really aren't that many of us here, you know?
Take a breath............please.
And let's have some fun.
Amen

OMG, we are being censored????????? On a forum where we are anonymous and supposed to be posting questions about Sonar and helping each other? What is this world coming to? I feel a Sonar 8 dongle coming out that directly rings Noel's oval office.

Actually, I appreciate Cakewalks help trying to keep this forum a little professional.

To the rest...SEE YA! and F*** OFF! (Bar me, Cakewalk, I really don't care anymore)...

OK, so I unblocked you again just to get a sense of what the heck you're doing. Hopefully, this will be the last time I have to deal with you. Last time you were just leaving. Now you seem to want to go out in flames, a "virtual" "suicide by (moderator) cop" as it were.

I hope you get the help you need as your posts of late are displaying an increasingly unstable person.

You have my pity and my prayers, but no sympathy. You've shown your stuff for too long that I suspect it is just the way you are. You hide it for awhile, but back it comes. I won't miss you around here. Yes, you know a lot, but we'll get by fine without you.

what a great rant in the endless telenovela of relatively senselss argue-threads...wow...
how bored can some folks here be? not only talking about the "ranty" ones, but also those who always try to make some elegant cosiderations about things that in the end dont matter...get some real lide conversation, im sure that helps...
i havant posted much lately and i just do it now because i am bored and because i am amazed by this kindergarten (btw..normally i am supposed to post childish crap - but at least i do it for the fun of it) i wish you all that sonar 8 comes with a load of bugs - so in the end you will have somne technical stuff to discuss for the next months - instead of this bogus here
or should i ask steve austin to post some new "vs. threads" ??? im sure il find him down in phuket or maybe he has moved to mianus now? but i guess he still hangs around with ling ling, doesnt he???

Even if he was kidding, and even if he said he was kidding, from some of the things he said, he shouldnt be offended AT ALL if they remove the thread.

Say whatever you want, but if this was my forum, and you said something oddly out of line or too much of a "bad flavor", especially if it has to do with shooting people, which really is no laughing matter considering things that have happened involving shooting, I would have no problem deleting that thread as it really has no place on the forum...

I actually thought he was funny until the shooting people thing came up.

just for provcation: shooting people - i thought - is very popular in the us..almsot all films that cross the ocean are related to heavy violence...you have the great nra - you have the highest rate of handgun related murder in the world - and the civilian population is the most armed in the world...also the usa seems to be very proud of its militray tradition, and instead of investing in social care and insurance it wastes billions and billions of tax-money in a very uneffective war...??? so what is the problem with a guy making a declared joke of shooting someone - or does someone believe he really showed up with a revolver in front of your house (which only now comes to my mind might even be a realistic fear from a us-point of view...wow - thats crazy...)

Seriously folks...

The natives are pretty restless 'round here huh. Can we try to remember that we're all on the same team here? Frankly it's hard sometimes for me to read some of these posts and not jump into the fray, but we know what fuel on a fire does. Regardless of what we think of what the politicians and the power-brokers do, please try to keep this in mind....

We are the music makers,
And we are the dreamers of dreams,
Wandering by lone sea-breakers,
And sitting by desolate streams;—
World-losers and world-forsakers,
On whom the pale moon gleams:
Yet we are the movers and shakers
Of the world for ever, it seems.

Now keeping in mind that I personally didn't delete the thread in question, I can see why it was deleted. The author of the thread changed the title asking that it be deleted and apparently one of the mods decided to oblige. Having said that, kudos are in order to those who attempted to brighten what was turning into an otherwise very dark thread (you know who you are).
