[CWBRN-23697] - Dragging a track into an empty track folder changes the order of folders
A minor issue affecting only those who use project templates with empty, ready-to-be-used track folders (myself included). [Steps to Reproduce the Issue] 1. Create a new project using the Normal project template. 2. Delete all existing tracks (if you see them). 3. In the Track view, insert 5 track folders. 4. Change the name of the folders from Folder 1/2/3/4/5 to, say, Drums/Bass/Guitars/Keys/Vocals. 5. Insert an audio or MIDI track, outside the track folders. 6. Click-drag the track into one of the first three folders. [Expected Result] The track goes into the folder. Nothing else happens. [Actual Result] The track goes into the folder and the next folder moves to the last in the track pane. Issue #: CWBRN-23697 Reported, confirmed and submitted to development on Jan 28, 2014

If it happens with the Default Template, why not just make your own template and use that.

Yes, I use my own project template with probably 20-25 MIDI tracks of various instrument types that I use most often for convenience (acoustic drums, electronic drums, electric bass, synth bass, and so on) and these tracks are in an "UNUSED" folder. The template also contains empty folders with names of different instrument types (Bass, Guitars, etc.), and, for example, if the first MIDI instrument I record in this project is electric bass, I record takes in the electric bass track and then drag it into the Bass folder (and collapse the UNUSED folder to save screen space). That's when Sonar automatically changes the order of folders. It's a minor issue but I'd like to see it fixed in the near future.

Yes, the issue is reproducible without using any project template, but in that case you'd probably put tracks into a folder by selecting the tracks and using a right-click menu, as opposed to creating the track folder first and then dragging the tracks into it. That's why I think this issue only affects project template users.

Not fixed in Platinum. My workflow isn't really affected by this, though.
