Hey Bit, you live right up the road from me. Tommy
Well, about 60 miles up the road to be more precise.
Send me a PM with your email address and I'll add you to the mailing list for the local SONAR user group. The group is dormant at the moment, due to the lack of a venue in which to meet. But I hope to revive it when a resolution to that problem is found.
Sorry, back to topic...papa, it's not unusual that a downloadable install have newer files than the physical media. That's because there is a significant lead time (often 3 months or more) for disk duplication and packaging. Any fixes done after RTM aren't going to be included in the physical media. That's the real benefit of distributing software electronically.
It's also not unusual to have newer files on more recently-pressed disks. It's called slipstreaming, changing the image during manufacturing. It's done quietly, since there is usually no way for the consumer to determine if he has the original image or a newer one.
None of this excuses CW's lack of documentation for revision histories. Somewhere, there should be a public record of what the difference is between builds. At least 5 different version numbers have been mentioned in this thread. It would be nice to know which one fixes (or breaks) what.
