Guitar Rig won't recognise automation

Sonar X2 Producer 64bit Anyone any idea why Guitar Rig 5 won't recognise fades or other automation on tracks and clips? I can't get tracks to fade properly because Guitar Rig keeps the volume constant all the time. As a test I took a 10 piece of guitar and put a fast curved fade from the beginning so I would be able to hear the gradual volume decrease. It didn't do that at all and the track just stayed at the same volume and then cut off abruptly at the end of the clip. It also doesn't recognise envelopes. I tried to increase the gain for the start of a guitar solo and that didn't work, neither did reducing the sound down to INF. It doesn't matter if I have it as an effect on the track or the clip itself, the outcome is the same.

Do you have the read automation enabled on the track?

I just double checked that and with Read automation on OR off I get the same result. Clips will not fade.

are ypu talking about automating the track volume in sonar or a parsmeter in gr?  do you have compressors running in the gr patch?

I'm automating in Sonar, same way I do it for every clip. I've no compression on the GR patch as far as I can tell, but that still wouldn't account for why basic clip fades aren't working in Sonar. I might have to try re-installing the software because what's happening is not making sense
