You are quite correct Julian, I acted like a child and I need to PM him and apologize. I still believe that the advice about the bios flash was not the right call. I also had the feeling that he was so adamant about it because he is so use to arguing with Bub that he is automatically set to disagree with him on all occasions. As for me that was really the only issue I had with him was telling everyone they need to update their bios. Before all other avenues have been explored. I acted alone up there and very badly. I do apologize for what it's worth.

ohgrant I still believe that the advice about the bios flash was not the right call. That's all he ever says and it's dangerous. I also had the feeling that he was so adamant about it because he is so use to arguing with Bub that he is automatically set to disagree with him on all occasions. He's that way with everyone that doesn't go along with the whole BIOS/Firmware thing. He and the other guy in the thread are that way with anyone who doesn't go along with their beliefs. As for me that was really the only issue I had with him was telling everyone they need to update their bios. Before all other avenues have been explored. I acted alone up there and very badly. I do apologize for what it's worth. You didn't do anything wrong as far as I could tell so I personally don't think that you should feel the need to apologize, but it's nice of you to do so. Nobody wants to see him go, but that's how people react sometimes when they are called out.

a BIOS flash, in the wrong hands, or contexts, can DESTROY a computer MB .. with no going back ... been there done that , bought the T shirt... so those self proclaimed Gurus should temper their poor advice

The correct way to fix a computer problem is to buy a better computer. HTH.

A lot of forums tend to get out of hand. Could be ego's, could be other stuff. It's the internet. I learned to have thicker skin when signing on.
