I have a very wide monitor that I don't need to have the browser full screen. Also I have the ability to zoom in or out. I think all browsers have that same ability. If things are too large try zooming out. Some browsers respond to a ctrol + mouse wheel.

For those complaining about the size try hitting Ctrl - a couple times. That makes it a little better. It should not be spilling off the edge of the screen though. Not sure what that's about but that seems more like a Windows or browser setting that needs adjustment. It fits on my screen.

Another thing that makes it all more compact is if you got to your User Controls go to Additional Options and check the option that shows user avatars. It cleans things up quite a bit... but then you have to actually read the user names.

Same here - I'm at 100% in IE9 which does seem better than the 120-130% that I usually use.

Hi, stevec. Yeah, with a bit of fiddling I've gotten it all to be a little more manageable. When they first changed it I wasn't sure if I could handle the new format but I've gotten used to it now.

Still some differences between IE 10 and Firefox 21, but a massive improvement. Well done Cakewalk.

Differences I've spotted - in Firefox, even with anti-tracking add-ins turned off, the post count, reward points etc. box is missing as are sigs and the essential/full buttons.

Definitely interesting, I'm not seeing the same myself. Have you tried CTRL + F5 in Firefox?

What addons/extensions do you have running?

Loads of add-ins, but CTRL+5 sorted it. Thanks.

There's a huge amount of white space in any browser though - much less per browser page (1920x1080 screen). Not enough to trigger migraines which some sites with loads of white space do though, thankfully. Oddly, zooming out reduces the (in my opinion) over-large font size but does nothing to reduce the amount of browser space each post occupies.

Mind you, I'm in the middle of installing/configuring Microsoft's latest almost misbegotten attempt to take over the world, aka Windows 8, so it's quite possible there's something I haven't sussed out yet.

John - mine is too, however, I inserted a direct link:

hit enter to make it "live" then if you select it, the "EDIT LINK" or "UNLINK" becomes "active" when you mouse over them.

Hey, John.  Thanks for that one.  Never knew that trick.  Perfect solution for the new format's slightly-too-generous use of white space.

I just paste URLs into the text box and it automatically creates a hyperlink. The Add Link function is unnecessary and probably why it's grayed out in this version.

@Paulo... You can use an HTML code to do it on most sites. I'm not sure if it will work here and I'm gonna try to post the code for you using another set of HTML tags that is supposed to disable HTML tags so you can post code but that may not work either. Let's see...

Okay... seems to be appearing but so are the anti HTML tags. Gonna try a couple other things...

<a target="_blank" href="http://">Link</a>

That is the raw code with no link added (you'd put your URL where it says http: and type in your own text where it says Link)

<a target="_blank" href="http://forum.cakewalk.com/Shiny-new-forum-m2839295-p6.aspx#2840945">This thread.</a>

That should be a link to this thread.

Thanks for trying - on the old forum it was easy, but I'm not fussed enough to be bothered with it if it's gonna be a performance.

Well, I think you have font sizes here on this forum and if you backspace when the post you are making seems to be in double space type text then I guess that is something to do also.

IS this print small enough for everyone?

You can select a color for your text also.

Sorry, a stupid maximum posting limit that, I guess, comes with the new forum prevented me from answering until now!

In the full version of reply there's an HTML button that, if you click it, will show you the HTML and allow you to edit it.  The normal link insertion simply copys the URL as the text so all you need to do is change the second occurrance to whatever you want displayed.  I'm very used to just typing TEXT but this no longer works with the upgrade...  You can't insert images with anymore either.  Bah.

Wow, what a faff ! Don't you just love it when making things worse / more difficult is considered an improvement ?

Thanks for the info
