Looks like it was posted on the IK forum an estimated release time period of within mid year. Atlleast 4 more months of these threads! Aghh. 100 percent agree with cclarry and company though.

I'm amazed that people are so tensed by IK.
I have left and will not buy any more products from them, ever.
But don't understand how anyone that feel annoyed by them are waiting to throw cash at them when Septictank is released.

I just went to the IK forum to see if I could find that "mid year" estimated release statement you referenced, but didn't find any release date information on SampleTank 3 listed. Could you link to the statement with the mid year estimate?

Thanks, Peter

Heh - I read that IK post and what a bunch of blowhardy nonsense.

He claims 'status' of the code as some sort of excuse that they didn't want to put out a half-baked 64 version. Baloney. (Besides, what was 2.5 ...)  A 32 to 64-bit upgrade, while not 'gimme' simple, is straightforward and it easy to plan for. Most of the pitfalls are known entities. If you've ever been a developer during the 16-bit era, you'd know that a flat memory model to flat memory model conversion ain't nothing compared to what we had to do back then.

Of course, they don't want to 'give' it away (the engine) because... oh yeah, did we mention all the new sounds, er, uh, look at the grouse!

What are these 'earth-shaking' features that have taken a 5 year development cycle?

My Take

Larry = 1

fanboiz and company spin = ZERO

much like politicians or cats who scratch to cover their poop....

what happened to honesty and saying we screwed up we own up to it  or I AM SORRY

to Larry            don't fall under the detractors  keep the faith baby

IK lost sight of its ORIGINAL base , they went for the PROFIT(but really in this day and age, who can blame

them?)with the I KRAP and the group buys of existing VST stuff..

then the new business model with the kustom shop.. oh wait it lets the customer pick and choose.. but Ill be the bean counters were in on that model ...

I guess if I was the CEO I would make the same decisions I mean $$$$$$$$$$ drive us right?

there are some  smaller Software companies (Orange Tree for ONE) who still have an ethic .. and I support them

yes I purchase NI stuff , even though their model sucks and support sucks more, and Waves..

,, lets not even mention EW

In the beginning my IK stuff served me well, but they were surpassed by BETTER libraries.. heck  EVEN Garritan blows them out of the water because of Skripting ... HINT HINT

Ill drag my Rompler out if I want static Libraries ..

Green Acres is the place to be
I dont twitter, facebook, snapchat, instagram, linkedin, tumble, pinterest, flick, blah blah, lets have an old fashioned conversation!

Sounds to me like they lost the source code, someone either mistakenly threw it away or someone inadvertently used it for tp...

Is it OK if I "laugh and laugh" a bit more? I've been in my sad place and my tummy hurts. Please forgive me Peter, ol pal. But I'm no match for irony. But then who is??

not really, but you get a company coming on here proactively advertising, and not expect a backlash from folks who are waiting for a long overdue update..oh and mix that with high discounting strategy after release.. end of the day it's your money.. so yer, that sorta brings a right to reply.

I pretty much avoid some companies now... I want to make music , not do the "is it there yet" routine that some companies persist in.. wether that be bug fixing or doing 64 bit etc...

But it looks like you still have a relationship with IK and is affected by their actions.
Are you waiting or are you avoiding IK?

If you don't approve their actions you show that by not giving them your money.

They look at sales figures and act after that, nothing more nothing less.
Those who take the decisions in IK don't give a crap what a user called "Fog" writes on a Cakewalk forum.
They censor their own forum so you have no go there either.
Return on Investments is what it's all about.
