Changing the region setting does not help as well.
German OS too.

I Assume you're also using the German Translated version of Sonar? If so, then I think the only option for now is to try and install the English version of Sonar in combination with the workaround.

Zo
What is strange is that as a French based OS and Sonar version , everything works fine here ...
localistaion Paris Madrid ect

I think the problem is because french use a "," by default instead of a "." for the decimal.
I haven't tried it, but I think you can leave your international setting in French but just have to change the decimal character in the advanced tab.
I have encounter this problem a few year ago when I was developping an application.

I have Windows 8.1 64bit and Sonar Platinum, both as German version. The workaround works for me. However, I have to change the region setting to English before starting Sonar. I even can switch back to German region then, Kontakt will still load instruments without warnings poping up.

Same problem here on Win 8.1 x64 (French) and Sonar Platinum, only difference is Platinum, and Kontakt 5 works in X3, X2 and CUBASE 8 ;-).

Now THAT'S funny.  I about spit out some coffee on that one.

I hope these errors get resolved quickly - I will say that when I have Kontakted NI (hee hee) about technical issues in the past, I did so by calling Germany directly, and they were really really good about working through stuff with me, so I hope it will get fixed for the folks with current problems in short order.

I am in the US, and not having current issues with this at the moment, though I have not tested out all of my Komplete components at this time.

Have the same problem too. I haven't used Platinum because of this. Its installed, but I can't use it. I will wait to use Platinum till this is fixed. So can I get a refund for this first month of not being able to use the program?

Have the same problem. Get this error message, and have to press multiple times to get through. When the Kontakt instrument finally load, there is no sound. On one patch only half of the samples gave sound.
Have alot of Kontakt instruments, and rely heavily on Kontakt in my production. Hope it's solved soon.
I use Sonar Professional.

Hi Folks,

As you know we have been in touch with the NI team about this. The problem is a side effect of the fact that SONAR now supports Multilingual User interface or MUI.
i.e the same executable can switch to different languages without requiring a re-install for the new language.
As a result of this SONAR now establishes the user selected locale as set by the user in Command center. This displays the user interface in the selected language. This had an effect on some NI plugins when the locale is one that uses commas instead of decimals for numbers. NI has tested a fix for this problem and should release it when they are ready.

We are also investigating a potential workaround. Its not easy however since we do need to set the language to what the user selected to display in the right language. Can anyone who has this problem set SONAR's language to English and see if the problem goes away? The language is selected in Command Center by clicking the gear icon, changing the language field and then clicking Save. Then launch SONAR and it should appear in the selected language.
Additionally please let me know if the same issue applies to selecting presets within Kontakt itself.

My language in the Command center is set already English. I am still having the problem. The only way to "fix" it, is to change the computers locale (from Dutch to English XXXXX) (over here that is).

I am glad you guys found the issue. I hope you will fix it a.s.a.p. :)

Do not work for me neither.
I have set my locale to "French (Canada)" and set the Command Center to "English".

To be able to keep my locale to "French (Canada)" and the Command Center to "French", I have changed the decimal to a dot and the thousand separator to a comma int the locale advanced stting  and it work fine.

It's less annoying than changing the locale (it only affect the way numeric value are display).

So would appear that it happens when the applications locale is *different* from the OS locale and the OS locale contains a comma for the decimal. If this problem even happens when the App language is English, I don't think there is much SONAR can do to work around the issue since we cannot modify the OS Locale settings.
As mentioned NI already has a fix verified on their end.

I'm curious what happens if you set SONAR's language to be the same as the OS language. Does the problem still occur?

maybe sonar should take its locale settings from the os then, and not the command center app?

I tried your suggestions Noel and it didn't work either.

My Command Center Language was already set to English.  With my format set to English (UK), as confirmed earlier, i don't get a parse error.   Keeping my format set to Dutch and change only the separators doesn't work for me either.

I was also able to use Sonar with the C3 set to German without problems as long as I keep my format in Windows set to English.

I don't know if I mentioned this earlier but the parse errors only appear in kontakt with instruments that use scripting; hence the parse error.

btw. to be clear: I'm using the English version of Win7.

I tried switching Sonar from Geman to English. No effect.
Switching the OS to English. No effect.
Switching both. No effect.

For whom the workaround doesn't work....

Has anyone tried changing the Language for non-Unicode programs (Region an Language --> Administrative) to English?

Changed the numberformat: as to set decimals from , to .
Changed the non-Unicode language from Norwegian to English(USA)
It all seems to wok now. Have just loaded a few patches I know made the error, but they seem to work.
Hope this helps for a workaround for you who are still struggling.

Update: We found workaround in SONAR that forces the numeric locale to use decimal points. We will test it and if its good it will be in the next update.
It has a side effect of always displaying a point instead of a comma in all languages but that's relatively a small display only issue so not a big deal.

I think it's better than having to change the locale in Windows ... until NI publish a fix.
Thanks.
