Did you try installing using the Command Center?

No, and for the moment I can't see myself installing it just for the CL update.

I would however like to know if this is a necessary step.  It doesn't seem to be mentioned anywhere.

Ryan Munnis [Cakewalk]
Nope, you can install through Command Center or manually.

I guess I should rephrase my question :  Has anybody successfully updated the CL without going through the CCC ?

All of our "Connected Product" installers are available through www.cakewalk.com/my-account/products as well as through Command Center. The only exceptions are legacy installers that have not been updated to deliver through Command Center, the latest trial versions of our software, and some third-party stuff where the licensing is handled on third-party websites.

You don't need Command Center to install or authorize the ProChannel Concrete Limiter, so there really shouldn't be anything holding you back from installing if you're running SONAR X3 and not SONAR Platinum.

Edit: for clarity

I installed my CL update ok, but when I put it in a Pro Channel the 'About' says is version 1.0.2 with a date of 2012. That doesn't seem correct, as the Command Centre says the update is 1.0.2.11.  How do I correct this?

Same here

??

Same here. In control panel -> programs and features. It shows two entries for the concrete limiter. Both say they are version 1.0. One has a date from 2012 and one from a few days ago (when I installed the update).

I searched in program files and can find only one ProchannelConcreteLimiter.dll and it is dated from few days ago.

I don't want to trivialize the concern, because I can understand wanting to see the build listed in the about screen.

However, this is where Command Center can prove to be helpful versus chasing down about screens and file properties. I know we had some initial kinks in the system to work out, but you should feel confident that if Command Center shows a green light for the ProChannel Concrete Limiter, you're up to date. If it shows yellow, and update is available that you have yet to install. If it shows red, the product isn't installed.

Care to hazard a guess as to why I experience the following when I try to install 1.0.2.11  (ProChannelConcreteLimiterSetup_1.0.2.11.exe)
but not when I install 1.0.1  (ProChannelConcreteLimiterSetup.exe) ?

First error message :
Cannot locate the required version of the program on this
system. Please install the correct version of the program to use
this patch.

Confirm that and get second error message :
Runtime Error (at 125:46):
Internal error: An attempt was made to expand the "app"
constant before it was initialized.

I do want to mention that the ProChannel Concrete Limiter is not automatically included as part of SONAR Platinum.

Next time please state that in post#1 and not post#30. I spent a bunch of time trying to figure out why I couldn't see this in CCC.

Please also note there is no talent button, perception button, or endless wealth features included with Sonar*

@Notecrusher - sorry you got frustrated looking for this plugin, only to find out after a bunch of time/effort that it is a separately-purchased one that you wouldn't have seen in CCC because it is not freely included with Sonar.

The initial post in the thread indicated in the subject line and content that it was updated - which I am sure was meant to infer that someone would already have to have it installed in order to update it.  At the same time - I can also see how you might not have come to that conclusion.

I think it was just one of those unfortunate things - and again am sorry you were out some time and effort with it all.

The Cakewalk folks post in these USER forums to do their best to help us, and when they DO post, it is often quite clear that they do pay some attention to the user posts, and they are often on and posting WELL past their bed time.  Please understand how valuable and unusual developer presence in a set of user forum really is.  If any mistake was made - it would most certainly have been accidental.  Additionally, the fact that nobody else seemed to get caught by the plugin being a separately purchased item would indicate that most folks seemed to understand from the onset that it would have been from a separate purchase (speculation on my part - completely).

It truly is a bummer you ended up looking for something you thought you would have had access to.  (I actually recommend you look at purchasing it - it is quite nice).

Oh gawd it's you, I had forgotten. Seriously if I'd realised it was the same guy who gave me a whole heap of abuse last time around I would have avoided that comment entirely. Regardless there is NOTHING rude or offensive with what I have written, in fact it was written in a jokey way, and it does have a point to it. People here are allowed to have opinions in these forums whether you like it or not. You are NOT the forum censor. These are public forums and I am allowed to respond to post in these forums. Also I am NOT stalking you I would have written the same response regardless of who had written it. I have also been posting in this thread long before you arrived. Nothing what I wrote earlier amounts to a personal attack or trolling. Personally I don't give a toss who you are, and frankly I take offence with your personal attack. I don't expect to get an apology either so I'm not going to worry about it.

FWIW I agree with you, the post should have been in the software forum.
At this stage I could moan on about that comment being trolling and rude, but you are allowed to have your opinion so there no point in throwing out my toys in the pram. I'm sorry if you feel I'm not allowed to have mine. And as you know I spend quite a considerable amount of time attempting to resolve issues in these forums, so I regard that comment as extremely unbalanced and probably has another agenda behind it. I will post when I feel I want to thankyou, I will not be censored by the likes of you.

Do you mean without CCC being involved in any way ?

You just downloaded "ProChannelConcreteLimiterSetup_1.0.2.11.exe" and ran it ?

Are you still on X3e as stated in your signature ?

(I'm still unable to install this update)

Yes, I am using X3e. I have CCC installed for Platinum demo (Hopkinton) but did not use it to install PCCL.

I downloaded the installer from the Cakewalk website (from my Account:Products page).

So, I'm a bit confused by some of these responses to Concrete Limiter. I too received the same message as Paul P from Montreal with the prompts of "cannot locate the required version of the program on this system..." followed with the Runtime Error prompt.  It's in my CCC with a red button next to it but from what I can ascertain is that some have just resorting to circumventing the CCC process and just doing it the old fashioned way? And my CCC went thorough an update that did nothing to resolve this issue with loading concrete limiter to the program. I have X3.

There is an updated version of the ProChannel Concrete Limiter now available through Cakewalk Command Center (C3). Make sure when you open C3 to go to settings (Gear button) and click the [Check Now] button if you have C3 set to update at larger intervals.

This resolves an issue where the installer would not run on older versions of SONAR including X3.

*This update is available only to customers that purchased the Concrete Limiter separately*

Might be easier to unlock this thread and start a new one, not going to be very obvious embedded in a thread. And besides the subject title is VERY misleading (how much do I owe you? ).
