jonboper It's not fancy, really, but it's a fantastic and affordable EQ: http://ddmf.eu/iieqpro-equalizer-plugin/ I own FF's Pro Q2 and yeah, that's more transparent, no question, but the IIEQPro has an exacting quality, a very cutting filter, and it doesn't destroy your CPU.
That reminds me of my 2. favourite outside Sonar fx: ddmf directional eq http://ddmf.eu/directionaleq-equalizer-plugin/ It´s possible to create crazy sounds with that guy.

TheMaartian Exactly. I was current on the Slate plugs when I was on Win7 and the iLok dongle worked, more or less; well, OK, mostly less. I managed to move my Slate licenses off the dongle and am waiting (not patiently, but certainly not holding my breath) for them to support computer authorization (which works great for me (UVI, Eventide, Softube so far)). Come on Steven! Some of us are on PCs! Side note: The v3.0.0 update notes for the iLok License Manager mentioned something about no longer installing legacy dongle support. Maybe it'll run better (heck, at all!) now under Win10. I'm just really gun shy about trusting that dongle again. Kinda like a relationship. She cheated on me once; I never trusted her again. Way it goes.
I've been running Slate's stuff under iLok since the FG-X was first released. Never a problem in Win 7 and Win 10. I own licenses for all but the new preamps and everything just works. Maybe you have some conflict installed (either HW or SW) and just have not tracked it down properly?

If I had to narrow it down to one plugin outside of Sonar's own, right now it'd be Klanghelm's MJUC. Love that compressor. Like 3 different compressors in one. Very versatile. But not necessarily cpu friendly. I have, use and love most of the IK Multimedia plugs. I'm also really liking what Boz has been putting out with David Bendeth. Namely the +10db bundle and the HoserXT. The other plug I use constantly is SPAN. A necessity in mixing for me.

DMG Audio Equillibrium or EQuality for surgical, Linear Phase, or M/S EQ work. Waves SSL 4000 G EQ for general mixing But I'm not highly dependent or favoring of any one EQ, compressor, etc. It all depends on the mix or mastering job. I will say, the Waves DBX-160 plug-in is killer for parallel compression of kick and snare!!

hadn't thought about that dbx compressor.. i have an actual outboard dbx compressor, that i use a lot, but not worth messing with for ITB mixing, having a software version of it would be like keeping it in the family. LOL that klanghelm MJUC MK3 comp looks very interesting....

It rocks. Three comp "styles" in one plugin and so easy to compare with like (or similar) settings.

Indeed it does...but since this thread is still going strong, here's another...the Slate VBC Grey model. Purely coincidental I assure you.
