scook,  do I ever have to remove the files in my symbolic link folder?

So I have the files from C:\ProgramData\Cakewalk\Command Center\Downloads being linked to E:\Cakewalk\Command Center\Downloads.

Since the files are all being stored on my E:\ drive, which has 2 TB of space, there is no reason to have to remove the 39 GB of data being seen on the C:\ location as the data is not there, but instead on the  E:\  drive, correct?

Just making sure.

Peace,
Jesse G. A fisher of men  <><

Only if you want to do so. After moving the files and creating the directory junction, the files physically reside on E: and do not affect the C: drive in any way.

Maybe we can get Craig to add it to his TOW thread.

And other "space hogs"  (sounds like good name for a band, LOL)
---------------------------------------------------

And Thanks Sharke,  Excellent, I freed up 50G.

That reminds me, C:\Users\usename\My Documents\Celemony\Separations

Another somewhat significant "space hog" I found is Melodyne and some files it saves that aren't needed once you've bounced your clip edits, Ive show location and response I received from Celemony below.
(I just cleaned up about 9G again)

"Dear John,
the separation folder contains data that is needed by the polyphonic algorithms in Melodyne. But if Melodyne can not find this data if a project is loaded, it will create it automatically again. So in other words: you can delete the content of this folder, but it will be populated again after each loading of projects using the data stored in here.
if you work with bounces, you don’t need the files created by Melodyne in Sonar."

Sharke, thank you for posting this tip.

I asked about this about a year ago after using the utility WinDirStat to identify folders that took up the most space.  At the time, I was advised by a few who said things like, 'Oh, it isn't so bad, just leave it'.  I blew away the files anyway and have been keeping an eye on it ever since.

Good tip.

Software: Cakewalk by Bandlab; Adobe Audition; Band-in-A-Box audiophile; Izotope Ozone; Encore; Melodyne; Win 10 Pro, 64-bit.

Hardware: Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 2nd; Roland Integra-7; TCE Finalizer; Presonus Central Station, Behringer X-Touch.  Home built i7 with 16 GB RAM, SSDs.

Thanks, that saved me over 41GB. I was wondering where all my disk space was going.
