Pan envelopes not working

I have a couple of projects that I created in Sonar 2.2. I started using my 3.1.1 Producer Edition recently. But the pan envelopes don't seem to be working. They are only on vocal tracks. I tried deleting, then re-creating the envelopes, but no luck. And, yes, I made sure that I have automation enabled. I even tried manually panning while listening but there is no panning going on. The tracks that are just panned (i.e., toms), sound fine. As a last resort, I pulled up the original projects in Sonar 2.2. And the pan envelopes are not working there, either.
The only change recently is that I installed the 7.13 drivers for my Aardvark Q10s. I don't think that that's the problem, though. I think it's in Sonar, but I can't figure it out.
Thanks for any help.

you may know this, but if you don't-there are 2 things that need to be on for them to work.
    1. there is a button called :enable/disable audio automation playback-that needs to be highlighted. (up above.)
2.you have to right click on the track itself and choose "arm for automation". In Sonar 2.2 you didn't have to do that. A red rectangle should appear on the track controller. Almost ripped my hair out last night. If not, you draw the envelopes, they are there, but nothing happens.

    Does that work?

    I did those already.
I just tried something. In my projects, I assign instruments to their own busses (drums, guitars, vocals, etc.). I assigned the vocal track with the pan envelope to the guitar bus, and it worked. Actually, the pan always worked. I just couldn't HEAR the pan. But why it doesn't work in the vocal bus, I don't know. All of my busses are assigned to the same output on my soundcard. I know this is going to be something really stupid.

Sorry guys. I just realized that the mda de-esser that I put on the vocal bus was causing the problem. I don't know why, but I guess I'll have to find a different de-esser. Anybody know of a good free one?

    Joe,

There's SPITFISH from www.digitalfishphones.com (part of their "fish fillets" plugins). I actually don't know for sure how good it is, since I only noticed that it existed just the other day and haven't had a chance to use it yet. I have used some of their other plugins, though, and they seem pretty good. (It should go well with your "fish" theme. )
